Jovetic would be brilliant, but isn't he more of a withdrawn striker/attacking midfielder than an out and out front man? He was the first guy I signed as LFC on the new fifa, funnily enough.

Yes but he can play outwide too so he gives lots of options. I wouldn't mind buying a Wolfswinkel, Jovetic, etc and making that player become World Class. People can harp on "everyone knew about Torres" well ya they knew of his potential, but he was only scoring like 11-14 goals in la liga, not really world class. Then he came to us and turned it on. Someone like that would be awesome (Suarez was like that too). Lavezzi could do this. I think.

For me, if it was my money and I try to follow FSG philosophy and I could be rid of Carroll ( again series of events that will not happen) I would probably go A. Ayew, Llorente, Gourcuff, Lavezzi, A. Annan/M'vila/M'Bia. Those first 4 should give us pace, technique, height, and loads of options to score, would it cost? Yes but I was trying to be realistic ( either by who we bid for, or could bid for).

    I think he needs a Torres-type rather than a Carroll-type

One guy I certainly wish we'd bid for is Xherdan Shaqiri. I think he was available in January for under £10m if the right team were to bid. Now he'd be at least double that. He's someone I think we could attract, though.

Heard of him but haven't seen enough to say "Yes". Also, A banega, jaoa moutinho would be good to come in as well I think but it would have to be just one of them. I am sure Comolli is on the horn and doing his research on all and sundry.

I think Moutinho is rated at >£30m, or so it was reported when Chelsea were rumoured to be interested in the summer. Banega would be the better of those two, I feel.

I love Banega and think we missed out on him due to Rafa getting the chop, we were really interested and probably would have got him had Rafa stayed. Also, Villareal are in the dumps.....Nilmar?

Don't give him a partner, play him on the right wing in a 4-2-3-1

Still not convinced Suarez should be played as an out and out striker as he sometimes is. I think his main attributes may be utilised cutting in from the right or the left of a front three, for Suarez to play in the role numberof a number nine he needs to finish a higher number of the chances he recieves/creates. Carroll could play the number nine role, but he looks way of the pace at the moment and needs to play to his strengths, would like to see him displaying much more positive aggresion.

For me the strongest line up we have is as follows:

    .....Adam.............Lucas
    ..Bellamy....Gerrard.......Downing
    ..Suarez

Leaving Kuyt and Carroll as alternate attacking options. Probabally the best squad we have had since Rafa's best, but still not right.

Would love to see Shearer brought as an attacking coach to breathe a bit of fire into Carroll. I think getting the best out Carroll will be so important to the clubs overall success, we cant afford to be burdoned with a £35 mill flop.

Oh yes, I've just remembered that Higuain is a little bit faster than Benzema on Fifa, which means he must be faster in real life....my mistake.

    Shearer?

Ian Rush has recently obtained his FA coaching badges and would be a far better option than Shearer for LFC should that situation ever arise(imo).

Putting aside my natural instincts towards Liverpool, you should sign someone like Leandro Damião. Good in the air but more skillful and mobile than Carroll and scoring for fun in Brazil.

The only reason I say Shearer is because I would like to see Carroll play in a similar way, Rush was a master poacher, Shearer's game was built on aggresion, and that is the style that will best suit Andy. Plus both geordies. Am I correct in thinking Spurs have Clive Allen and Les Ferdinand as coaches? So why not Shearer, Rush and of course the King, plus Kenny and Shearer are mates anyway...

See Schofields back! The man's an idiot amongest other things. How fast is Walcott and how many goals does he score? Don't tell me he's not a striker - he keeps telling Wenger he is!

Shearer's playing style ws more akin to Rushies than Carroll's.

Rushie was'nt just great in and around the opponents area he could get posession of the ball in our half and use skill&speed to get a shooting oportunity, can you see Carroll ever basing his game on speed like Rush and Shearer?

Hes more of a target man thats built to muscle his way to goal and get on the end of crosses(a bit like John Toschack).

Well he got 13 last season, from 44 games, so that's pretty much 1 in 3, which as you point out from the wing not bad at all.

Mainly I would suggest down to the fact that he has pace to burn, and **** all else to his game.
