Tonight's game at Anfield has got a lot of living up to do if it's to get anywhere as good as last night's game..... Liverpool are favorites and they do play some cracking football, but Villarreal are no mugs and it would be good if they can hang in there and make the return leg interesting......
Wouldn't it be great if Villareal won the Champions League, leaving all the big money boys crying in their wake
Read somewhere that despite their small status they actually have the 4th biggest budget in La Liga, they are bank rolled by the ceramic tile giant Porcelona....... Still I think it's great that the whole town population could fit into Anfield and they'd still be empty seats.......
Never going to be like last night. Villareal with everyone behind the ball, playing on the break. Liverpool need to move the ball quicker.
Thing is Col if they tried to play Liverpool at their own game they'd get torn to pieces........ They've done exactly what they needed to do, break play up, slow the game down, it's up to Liverpool to find a way to get through them or try pot shots as Thiago did, he was very unlucky.......
HT: Liverpool 0-0 Villarreal The shot attempt count is 13-1 in favour of Liverpool (seven different Reds players had at least one shot in the first half). But Villarreal have now not conceded a first-half goal in any of their six Champions League away matches this season. A Champions League semi-final match has not ended goalless since Man City v Real Madrid at Etihad Stadium in the first leg in 2015-16.
Absolutely. I just don't want their negativity and **** housery rewarded, especially as I want the English team to win. Get in!!
It was going to take something odd to break the deadlock and the deflection did it........ Don't expect any real change from Villarreal.......... Mane makes it 2........ now it changes a bit.......
Villareal make three changes. No idea whether they're attacking ones or not. Liverpool just need to be sensible. They don't need a third.
I'd say that Villarreal would take a 2-0 deficit back to Spain next week, they're still in the tie and not been blown away.......
Don't think I've ever seen a more one-sided Champions League semi-final. Newcastle will give Liverpool more trouble on Saturday.
