So we have to lose three just to **** up the two Merseyside teams and Man Utd. Would rather see us winning all four and would love to start with a win on Saturday.

Formation I'd play - I'd play defensive and counter. We have the pace to do it. Work our arses off. We cannot play the same formation as usual and not get hammered. There is literally no point playing Wood in this formation, he'd get slaughtered. We need to be defensive, good on the ball and counter. I'd play - ---------------Gayle/ASM----------------- Murphy-Joe--Bruno-Willock--Almiron Targett----Burn---Lascelles---Krafth -------------------Dubz----------------- I was thinking 5-4-1, but I'm not confident in Schar playing anymore, our strength is definitely our midfield. We have one great CB and good fullbacks, but are lacking in confident, good CB's besides burn. Better to flood the midfield. I'd play 5 hard working midfielders in a defensive 4-5-1. Murphy and Almiron to support fullbacks. I'd have Gayle/ASM up front because I suspect well counter attack alot.
I would play Schar rather than Lascelles. Lascelles is so slow when in possession - we will just turnover the ball repeatedly if he is playing it out from the back. Agree about Wood - definitely play ASM rather than Gayle. I would probably switch Almiron and Murphy. I would target Trent-Arnold. He may be great coming forward but he is not good defensively.

So we're going into a defensive formation and you want ASM to be on the LW? Seriously? Murphy was put in because he's got good work rate and decent defensive cover, same with Almiron. And why should Shelvey start? He's awful without the ball, and WILL get raped by Liverpool midfield. Anything Shelvey can do, Bruno can do better, we don't need shelvey. Willock has a goal in him and works hard defensively and attacking wise. We need grafters with good pace in that midfield. Willock is good at dispossessing people and beating a man. Wood will win literally NOTHING in the air vs Matip and Van dick. Literally nothing. Wood will be of no use what so ever. I don't understand why you all are putting Schar ahead of Lascelles. Schar was dropped because he's been making tonnes of errors over the last few games, and rightly so. Pick players on form, and right now Schar is a liability.
The 4 players that were "dropped" last week will start Saturday,simple and they should because we wouldn't be 9th now if it wasn't for them! You want Lacelles to play against Salah,Mane,Jota,Diaz and Origi lol

If it's a choice between lascelles or schar then normally I would choose schar, but he has been the weakest player recently because of how many mistakes he's made. You pick on form not history, and Schar has made more mistakes than anyone recently in defence. Lascelles should be called up when whoever is in his position is playing ****. You want ASM to play against Liverpool on the LW and get dispossessed constantly in deep positions? The only place ASM should play in a defensive formation against a side like Liverpool is CF. If he's on the wing, he'll be a liability against a side like Liverpool.
