Re Sir Les, I think you and Toon saw the best of him.

Given a choice I'd take Ade leading the line rather than the Spurs Les (he did well for us, but not as well overall as Ade is doing). I'd love Sir Les in our squad though, put him in for Pav and I think we'd be strong favourites for 4th place and winning the EL.

Hi Northolt, I don't know who 'one size' is, but I guess it's a QPR player

    Harry Lauds Warnock Achievement

HARRY Redknapp has heaped praise on Neil Warnock in the build up to Sunday's match against Tottenham Hotspur

The Spurs manager and Warnock have forged a close friendship over the years, leading to the influential deals of Kyle Walker and Adel Taarabt to W12.

In the wake of the club's first meeting since December 1995, Redknapp was keen to praise the QPR boss for his stunning impact in W12.

'Neil walked in there and in his first season, got them promoted,' Redknapp told tottenhamhotspur.com.

'They had manager after manager, good managers tried to get QPR promoted and in comes Neil and no problem, first season - promotion. That's amazing.

'I just think he understands football, he understands the game.

'People look for magic formulas in this game. He knows how to put a good team together and knows players who will do a good job for him.

The last time Rangers registered a win at White Hart Lane was in 1994 when a Trevor Sinclair brace was enough to see off the hosts.

Since then however Rangers exile from the top flight has ensured meetings have been reserved purely for friendlies.

A succession of bosses in more recent times saw progress scuppered somewhat, but in Warnock Harry believes that QPR have a manager that understands how to put a team together.

He continued: 'Neil walked in there and in his first season, got them promoted,' said Harry.

'They had manager after manager, good managers tried to get QPR promoted and in comes Neil and no problem, first season - promotion. That's amazing.

'I just think he understands football, he understands the game.

'People look for magic formulas in this game. He knows how to put a good team together and knows players who will do a good job for him.'

Rangers are 8/1 with bwin to pick up a victory at White Hart Lane, giving an indication of the mammoth task awaiting QPR this Sunday

QPR duo eye recalls for Spurs clash

    Tottenham Hotspur v QPR

DANNY Gabbidon and Armand Traore are in contention to return to the squad for Sunday's trip to White Hart Lane.

Gabbidon has been sidelined since the win at Wolves last month with a knee injury, while Traore missed the west London derby victory over Chelsea with an abductor problem.

However, the QPR duo returned to training this morning, and will be assessed tomorrow ahead of the clash with Spurs.

But boss Neil Warnock looks set to keep faith with the side that beat Chelsea at Loftus Road, with Clint Hill retaining his spot at left-back.

And therein lies the danger of cross board threads, as this is a QPR board and I feel myself to be a guest, I simply accept Norway Ranger calling us 'spuds'.

Were it a cross board thread, I'd be having a right go about it :)

Racism-row not distracting QPR - Warnock

QPR manager Neil Warnock insists his team have not been sidetracked by the Anton Ferdinand race row.

And he says the club has been "buzzing" ahead of Sunday's trip to Tottenham.

"I can honestly say it hasn't really [been distracting] as we just have to focus on Spurs," he said.

"The place has been buzzing, as you would expect [after the Chelsea win]. I don't think teams like QPR win very often against the Chelseas of this world.

"Somebody said it was over 10 years since a newly promoted club beat Chelsea.

"We know what kind of achievement it is to beat them, even though the circumstances saw them make one or two mistakes on the day.

"That does not take anything away from what I thought was a wonderful occasion for everybody connected with the club.

"[QPR had] a whole new generation of fans that had not even seen Chelsea play , never mind see us beat them.

"It was a great day for the club itself, and that is what we strive for.

"I think it was 15 or 16 months ago we were trying to avoid relegation to League One. Now we're beating Chelsea in the Premier League and it is almost like a dream for everybody connected."

He added: "I don't think anybody should get carried away just yet.

"We have had some heavy defeats but we don't dwell on the disappointments too long.

"Likewise, I don't think we took the euphoria too long when we do well.

"We have a level-headed group of boys and get straight into the nitty gritty."

And Ferdinand is braced for a tough battle on the pitch.

“It’s another London derby and for me personally, another great challenge against some top, top front players.

“Adebayor is up there with the best. You don’t play for the clubs he’s played for and achieve what he’s achieved, scoring so many goals along the way, without being a top-class player.”

Ferdinand believes Luka Modric, who Spurs managed to keep this summer despite substantial bids from Chelsea, will also be one to watch, adding: “Modric was fantastic last year – as he has been since he signed for Tottenham.

“He’s carried that form on so far this season, but it’s not just about him. Tottenham are a great side, heading in the right direction.”

I'm very touchy about that, but as I say fair enough on your board, though notice how Norway Ranger didn't even like me mentioning my dislike of the word.

So for sure, it would have kicked off big-time if I'd had a go about it :)

Me using spuds are more of a reflex than a malicious intent of spiting you. Nice to have you here Hoddle, no harm intended. I believe you're reply was tongue in cheek and i appreciate that, it's Spurs from now on from me :emoticon-0150-hands

Some of the cross board threads descended very quickly into name-calling, abuse and anarchy, others took a little longer :)

Remember, while there's very little animosity between us and QPR, in the past there's been massive 'previous' with us and the Toon.

Basically, up until a couple of years ago, there was a big argument about who was the bigger club, indeed if either/both were 'big clubs'. The words 'deluded' and 'arrogant' used to feature quite heavily. Now the Toon have reined in a bit on that as Spurs are clearly now the bigger club, but let them finish above us once, or heaven forbid, actually win their first major trophy since 1969, and it will all kick off again. That is an argument always waiting to happen.

Fortunately (in reference to that particular 'spat' we have with them :), Rovers turfed them out of the Carling, they're not in Europe and have no chance of the title, so the FA Cup is their sole hope now.

Us taking Waddle and Gascoigne off them didn't help matters between us either, though they nipped in to take Duff and Parker when we also wanted them. Then again we beat them to Modric, while they sold us Ruel Fox, however they also sold us Ginola, so swings and roundabouts etc :)

Fair comments NR, as I say I wasn't having a go, as I respect this is your board, and thanks for your kind words <ok>

I also know a lot of fans don't use 'spuds' to wind us up. Unfortunately the clubs we hate the most, Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham, use it relentlessy to annoy us. Arsenal are the worst, and it was they more than anyother club who used it so often, that some oppo fans thought it actually was a 'nickname' of ours :)
