According to FoxesTalk, this was on SSN.

Would be a good appoitment I feel. Has turned a relegation threatened Palace into decent play-off hopefuls and seems to have a bright future but does he have the experience? Think I would be happy with it. Remains to be seen whether we can tempt him away from Palace, a club very close to his heart.

    No. He is still unproven

I think the owners should ask Neil Danns about him before they even consider him

We are officially a laughing stock. The guy has only been in management 5 minutes.

Insane to take a chance on him. If he says no, which I think is quite possible, it will be even more embarrassing.

Why not Di Matteo or Davies FFS?!!!

With what is being reported (First Clark, now Freedman, more to follow probably) it seems we're picking a few managers to speak to and seeing who gives the best interview. Nothing wrong with that. I don't think he'd be that bad actually. Yes he'd be a risk but isn't every manager you appoint? OK he's inexperienced but if you're going to judge him on what he has done so far, then he's a credible candidate.

If you approach a manager that's already at a club, it's usually pretty much to offer them the job. I don't think I've ever heard of a club asking to speak to a existing manager and then not offer it them. Can you imagine how he'd be received by his current club after that, the fans knowing that he wanted to go to a different club by just didn't get the job?

Besides, we've had 100 applicants. I don't think Top needs to go fishing for more candidates.

Agreed, if we have asked to speak with him he must be high up on the list.

He's done a good job at Palace I'm not denying that but for a club in our position he is way too risky, he's been a manager for less than a season. Why not give it Davies who's got a proven track record?

I don't even think he'll take it, just like the transfer window we'll have to stick with 3rd or 4th choice.

Maybe you could try to beg Nigel Pearson back? Some big, expensive arses need kicking and he could certainly do that. Leicester never should have let him go in the first place.

He wouldn't kick any arses he'd just sell them all.

We shouldn't have let him go but he'd be the wrong man for this job now.

Agreed, good players have egos there is nothing you can do about that except try and keep their ego under control.

Nigel showed with DJ Campbell, Max Gradel and Joe Mattock he had no time for egos but saying that it was the correct approach at the time but maybe not now

Is anyone just getting slightly pi$$ed off with this, I am sure a lot of it is agents leaking garbage to the press to get their clients media attention but some of the links are just laughable for what is a pretty top job in English football at present.

I mean really, had Dowie got a cat in hells chance and if he did there would be a fans revolt, same for Keane and Strachen, gives me heart palps just thinking about it.

Nobody is ever going to be 100% happy but there are a few candidates that tick most of the boxes, Davies, Hughes and perhaps Clark so why f@ck around!

Well everyone wants Martin O'Neill so unless the owners get him people will be unhappy

I wouldnt mind Mark Hughes either but Freedman, Clark, Dowie and Jones even Mark McGhee was linked ffs

Roberto Martinez with Villa this summer?

Top knows how important this decision is so I don't think he'll rush it and if he interviews Freedman and isn't impressed with what he hears, I don't think he'll then go on to employ him. It would be a risk no doubt to employ him given his limited experience. He wouldn't be my first choice by any means but everything he's done so far has shown he is a decent manager and when compared to some of the names we're being linked with, I don't think he'd be as bad as some claim he will be.

Forgot about O'Neill after him ruling himself out - or has he?! Of course he is the one that most people want, and maybe there is still something in this, who knows!
