There are legends and then there are the real legends.

Kalvin has the opportunity to be one of our greatest ever so let's not prejudge what he will or will not do.

He's England's player of the year and there's a World Cup going on in November. Absolutely no way he'll be playing in the championship next season no matter what his granny might have wanted.

The World Cup is so close that there'll only be a few League games before the squad depart for Qatar. Does anyone really think 10 games in the Championship would make a massive difference to his World Cup chances ?

The main criteria for Phillips should be to be 100% fit and playing well.

Personally I think it would, but that's Southgate's call. I think if we go down then Phillips will definitely leave, it's not just the world cup he has to think about. He'll be 27 in December, how long will he wait around for us to get back up again ? Let's just hope it doesn't come to that, but frankly I have doubts as to whether he'd stay even if we survived. We know the lad is Leeds through and through but that is rarely (if ever) enough to keep a top player at a club forever.

As a club we just seem to have this reputation for letting players dictate when/how they leave which is a total contrast to Mr Levi at Tottenham who only allows outgoing transfers when the club deems the timing to be right. Harry Kane sulked for a little while but untimately knuckled down and then produced some of the best football of his career.

Tony Bloom at Brighton seems to be another who plays hard ball.

Also it would be interesting to know how many Newcastle players were given the option of leaving when they suffered relegation twice under Mike Ashley's watch.

My own personal view is that all the players who get a club relegated should be prepared to stay and put things right for a least one further season.

spot on. Damn agents have become far too influential and are a big part of the problem

I don’t think it’s a case of playing hardball - it’s a case of who has the leverage. Which depends on what is in the contract and how long is left on it. I know he’s sacked his agent but I’d be staggered if kp didn’t have relegation release terms in it as a bare minimum.

it takes deep pockets for any club to let a £50m+ asset run down their contract.
If we go down Phillips will leave, if we stay up he may well anyway.

Totally agree about the contract length milky.

3 years remaining should always favour the club and transfers out only sanctioned if higher than market value is offered.
2 years remaining it's roughly equal but club only sells if market value is received.
1 year remaining reduced offer will have to be considered and maybe accepted.

Phillips & Raphinha will both have 2 years remaining this summer and if new contracts are declined then as saleable assets their values start to decline from 1st September onwards. However that situation is slightly muddied by a winter World Cup this year which could see both players values peak during the January 2023 transfer window.

think that assessment is about right… 2 years is ideal extend or flog decision time really - for your valuable assists

They need the person that got them to turn up with photo I’d and collect replacements. These are / were two corporate ones and the bloke is in Spain. Don’t need member ID at the turnstile because of being corporate ones. She probably knew

Yes, was looking forward to going though. Never mind, someone will take the seats. Mate went to Watford and said at least 100 plus in there without tickets or with forged ones. People were sat on steps. Was a bit dicey in the bar and walkways with major overcrowding, thought they were going to get crushed.
