You’ve done the hard work, yorkshire, but are they more specifically ‘A4’s? I’ve been on 4488, and there was about ten seconds (not really ) between each puff! Something to do with the bore or the stroke, I can’t remember. Now, I have to disappear, because if my Dad catches me talking about LNER, rather than all-hallowed LMS, I’ll be in huge trouble.
It''s to do with this class of Gresley Pacifics. . Sparrowhawk, Bittern, Seagull are NOT part of the group. Great Snipe IS part of the group.
For what it's worth ( not much really) , I have a Maths degree and I don't understand the combination lock problem even given the solution ! BTW. If you (BB) are happy to send me an e-mail ( to [email protected]) I'll send my picture for the question I WANTED to pose but couldn't get the picture onto the threasd If you wish, when this one is finished, you can post it as a question, but i'll answer the attempts ! Does that make sense ? Meanwhile, are any more hints needed ?
My EXACT list is Kestrel, Osprey , Sea Eagle, Pochard, Garganey, Capercaillie ,Great Snipe, Peregrine Others that might have been included, but not in my specific list are Golden Shuttle, Herring Gull, Gadwall & finally Great Snipe ( Both in and not in !)
No. All the locomotives were renumbered , twice. LNER original, to LNER final, to BR , except one which didn't survive the war (and wasn't in my list). You were closer before.
I cant find anything on google! Is it anything to do with the birds? or..... ? Really annoying as I am into steam trains and birds!!!
You were really close ! I've really run out of clues without either giving it away , or making it more confusing. It's not really about the birds I am happy to wait a little, or reveal all.
