    Date - Wednesday 27 / 04 / 22

    Venue - Anfield

    KO - 20 : 00

    TV - BT

For our CL Semi Final we face this years surprise package who managed to win their QF against Bayern by scoring with both their shots on target over the whole tie . Villareal manager Unai Emery may not be the best domestic boss but his record in european competitions is excellent including leading Seville to victory over us . They play tight and are very difficult to break down and hope to hit on the break .

Highlights from Villareal -Bayern Villarreal v Bayern (1-0) | Danjuma gives Spaniards narrow lead! | Champions League Highlights

    Highlights from Bayern - Villareal

Bayern v Villarreal (1-1) | Emery's side STUN Germans to reach semis! | Champions League Highlights

In both ties they used players who we know from PL including 2 current Spurs players in Foyth & Lo Celso plus Arsenals Coquelin and Etienne Capoue who used to play for Spurs then Watford .

The last time we met was the EL SF in 2016 which we won 3-1 overall with a 3-0 win at Anfield .

    PL 24-7-2

    CL 8-0-0

    FAC 5-0-0

I watched this lot v utd and felt they had high intensity but little threat upfront.

They just lack a real danger man I suppose.

I feel this is a much harder game for us than benfica but the biggest thing is scoring and getting this lot rattled. With the away leg second we really need to take a lead there.

Diaz to start. The other 10 possible from today but have a feeling konate comes in too.

This will be a tougher game than Everton. Need to get back into high gear.

Newcastle in great form at the moment, charging up the table. It won't be as easy as it would have been in March. Playing them at the wrong time

    Its Eddie howe.

That's like saying it could be like the bournemotuh 3-4 if we are not careful rather than being an actual tough ask.

It's this simple; they are not very good at defending still. Spurs absolutely took them apart recently. Cheslea best them.

    Everton beat them ffs.

They've beaten Norwich, palace, leicester and wolves

This is midtable fodder and should be a must win for us to apply pressure.

We are only buying trouble making them into a beast

Gérard Moreno is a doubt for the Anfield leg and missed the utd games. He's a big miss for them in terms of leading the line.

This has the potential to be a very frustrating game. Luckily though the Everton match served as good practice in that sense.

Trying to all out defend and time waste for 90 mins is a challenge. Trying to defend and time waste for 180 mins is suicidal. They can't be setting up to be nearly as dire as Everton.

They won't be. They are a genuinely good side who just lack a killer forward.

They'll not park a bus. They will press up.in our cbs.

I think City will ease past them, but let's hope Real Madrid beat them.

I think real will at least give them a game but cheslea absolutely hammered them away for 75mins. City could run these off the park.

If we qualify for the final, in reality who do you want to face in the final Manchester City or Real Madrid?
