Wow if we are talking about pure footballing skill "what are we talking about". Ashbee's influence on any game through all the leagues was immense; as was witnessed many, many times when he was absent. His reading of the game from the hub was excelleant and his cutting down oppostion attacks before they got rolling was often missed by the naive. He was a giant in terms of getting the basics done and a true legend.
I lost some respect for Ashbee by the way he left the club (posted before reasons why), however he should be in the list, and is a genuine club legend
I agree with "Dont sack Brownie" he was capable of doing the basics ................... but the basics were the limit of his capabilities as it appears Brownie has at last discovered by not having him in his starting eleven in League 1.
