Kent will be seriously regretting that period late yesterday where we took 4 quick wickets with the 2nd new ball. This is not a 300 all out pitch. Time for Hants to ram home the advantage.
First half century for Brown, and he's currently averaging in the mid 70s for us. Now granted, that average will be cut down if he gets out in the near future, but nevertheless he has settled straight in. Proving to be the middle order rock that he offered to be.
We have a very good batting line up when in form and the bowling is not too shabby. Might have a little flutter for the CC.
And then there's the prospect that if we're in this sort of position again in future matches, we could have Donald ready to come in next - basically playing the "Gilchrist role". Whether coming in at 420-5 with license to just attack from ball one, or coming in at 120-5 with the opportunity to counter-attack and pull the momentum away from the opposition. As I said at the start of the season, my only real worry about a title charge being hindered was Weatherley. Four innings later, that worry has very much dissipated.
Absolutely. One spot to be shared between the three of them. As I keep on saying, no side needs seven bowling options. Especially when your first three options are as good as Abbas, Abbott and Barker.
Solid session (obviously). But I only want one more session of batting. If we're still batting after tea, we might struggle to take 10 wickets in time. If all goes to plan, we'll have a lead of 300 or so at tea. Which will be perfect to declare on. But even if it doesn't go to plan, and say we lose six wickets for 30 runs, it'll hardly be a disaster.
