As I understand it the concerns relating to head injuries are more to do with accumulative heading balls and clashing heads over a number of years. A single head clash in a game rarely results in permanent brain injury. It follows imo that it is absurd to stop the game in the circumstances that we saw last night. Seeing players writhing around (occasionally screaming) in agony only to speedily recover is embarrassing. If there is a genuine fear that players could genuinely be seriously injured in circumstaces like we saw last night perhaps the rules should be adjusted to prevent it. The previous evening I walked into a wall mounted kitchen door my missus left open and I haven't seen THAT reported in the national press!
