I heard a debate on the radio last night about which is better old school or more modern horror movies and we are having a debate here at work so I thought I would bring it on here. Do you prefer the blood and guts, in your face style of movie with lots of gore and special effects? Or do you prefer the power of subtle suggestion where the film maker puts the seed of an idea in your mind and lets your imagination do the rest? Personally, I prefer the latter because I think the human imagination is far more effective at scaring the **** out of you than blood and gore and special effects. Share the movies that scared the bejesus out of you when you watched them.
The Hammer Horrors were the best with plenty of buxom wenches with tantalising heaving cleavages. Twins Of Evil is fannytastic
Horror movies are just not my thing. Far too many flatter to deceive, and too often I watch one and find it entertaining an enthralling only to be let down with a **** ending.
The Arsenal fan is trying to entertain himself in a way his team never could. Now stop it and talk about horror movies
I can beat those two films Sam! Best horror film ever has to be Home Alone. Those 2 burglers got my heart racing!
I used to love horror films as a kid, probably because Hammer films were one of the few places adolescent boys were guaranteed to see tits in pre-internet days. I can't be arsed with them any more (horror films, not tits). Most of them seem to be full of teenage girls screaming their heads off for extended periods. I just find them irritating.
I don't like that genre of Horror either but I still watch the classic ones from when horror movies were actually scary.
