If he's gotten 1 in 2 under us, that is his most recent form. You see a player on 1 in 2 form, and then say "oh but he was 1 in 3 4 years ago". So his current form is 1 in 2, but he's a 1 in 3 striker because that's what he was at a previous club? lol. He may be 1 in 3 for other clubs, but evidence would suggest he could be a 1 in 2 with us as that is literally his record with us. 18 in 41.
I see evidence he could be a 1 in 3 or a 1 in 2 striker. At the end of the day he is literally 18 out of 41. It's as simple as that. Throw around terms like relative frequency and be a pretentious douchebag all you want, there is evidence he can be a 1 in 2 striker in a decent enough team. Unless what you mean is that he doesn't score in 1/2 games but 1/3 but that doesn't stop people from claiming ronaldo and messi were 1/1 strikers despite not scoring in every game but scoring often more or equal goals to their games played. Ronaldo was a 1 in 0.9 striker for Real madrid, but didn't score in every game. I never said Wilson scored in 1/2 of his games, but his goals to games ratio IS closer to 1 in 2 than 1 in 3 WITH US, that is a fact.
How often should he do that to get an accurate answer? Plus what’s how often his family visit him got to do with it?
Much as I think the world of Cal, his injury record is appalling. We need a striker who isn't apparently made of eggshells We need someone who will be fit at least 85% of the time. Not 50% at best We know he can score though.........
Maybe when we have more than 1 capable striker we can use him less and keep him fit more, hopefully anyway
Good player , but can’t stay fit Can still Do a job though 2nd,3rd choice striker after the summer I recon
This is a key point. The way we've played, our main striker has ro work their balls off and cover a lot of ground. With Bruce they were isolated and had do lots of running to any kind of sniff of the ball. With Howe, they have the high press aslo demanding a high work rate. It's a lot of work required for a striker to play in either system. Wilson probably knackered himself more from being our only real choice up front. Wood is doing the work now (I'm not getting I to how effectively as that's a different conversation that has been well covered elsewhere). My point is, with more options up front, we won't need to knacker our main striker out. Wilson could probably go a full season if hes mainly coming off the bench for between say 15-30 minutes most games.
If you want to discuss Wood’s play then I’m sure Roly has an ongoing forum specifically for that topic. Just pm him…although he might take a while to notice as he’s busy commenting on the “I can’t see the Trees for Wood” forum at the moment…well, when I say ‘at the moment’ he’s been doing that since this morning.
He won't even stay fit as a second choice though, he's always crocked. That incident at Man U seemed innocuous, but 4 months later he's still out. His attitude and finishing is better than Gayle, but his fitness is just as bad. He ain't part of the solution.
He'll be gone in the summer. he's an out and out poacher that thrives off tap ins and headers in the 6 yard box which requires wingers who cross. We seem to be progressing our style to be more through the middle, with wingers cutting inside and crosses coming from deep from the wing backs.
we'll have fraser back next season. He can cross well. He was one of the highest assist players for bournemouth and linked up well with Wilson I believe.
