StringerSport Ian Stringer Iain Dowie has applied for the #lcfc job. After taking over at Palace (in 19th) in 2003 they were promoted to the Prem that season .
It was reported we asked to speak to him, not sure of the answer yet. Apparently we've asked to speak to Dougie Freedman as well.
Looks like a very good young manager, a lot of us were hoping he'd become our manager in a few years.
I sort of do because he is doing well and is a Geordie, but can't help disliking him - seems a bit of a ****
Certainly looks one for the future but the Huddersfield fans didn't seem to bothered and didn't really think he was as good as it would first seem. Personally, would be a decent shout albeit a risky one. Might prefer to go for someone with Championship experience. Also the argument that he's failed to get one of the best teams on paper up from League 1 - a bit like the lower league's answer to Dave Jones. I reckon his ambition is to manage Newcastle as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see him succeed Pardew if he's proved himself.
From a close source to LCFC: Apparently Richard Keys went for the job and got an interview. Unfortunately, it didn't go well. When Chief Exec Susan Whelan enter the room, he asked Top if he'd smashed it yet. When she protested and informed him of her position within the club, he responded: "do us a favour love. Everyone knows women and football don't mix. Now fix us a brew, two lumps." Despite this, he's made the short list.
We need someone who has managed in the championship and prem as that is where we are aiming, this guy has done neither?
What happened to Gray? He talked alot of football but never had the b*llOcks to be a manager! Just hide in that studio ripping the sh*t out of everyone
I remember when there was a really possibility of him becoming Everton manager. But you just knew he wouldn't do it. Why get a job when you can be sacked after six weeks, when he had a cushy job at Sky? Besides, he'd have been s***.
I think it would be great if Lee Clark was your manager. Not sure about Keegan - maybe if he was your director of football, but if he was the assistant I think he would get in Clark's way
