It’s not a terrible result for us… just a sickener with the late goal.

I always assumed we were lining up Bielsas successor to continue what he had started. Someone to take over the squad and play virtually the same style and formation, hence why you have a director of football to prevent the high turnover of players that the old fashioned way of a manager operated….

I was quite surprised when I first heard Marsch doesn’t play or like to play with out and out wingers which we seem to have an abundance of.

I agree with most of what you say, for me I’d definitely sell Llorente, (you left off Hjelde) he backs his own ability to much and he’s far too injury prone. It’s easy to blame Bielsas training for everything but we could do with a few more robust players.

LB I totally agree, Firpo doesn’t do the basics, it’s nothing to do with system and again a complete sick note.

The biggest problem is we’re already light on players, I’d like to see replacements for Forshaw, Klich and Roberts but with uncertainty around the likes of Phillips and Raphinha going into a new season with 5-6 new first team players just doesn’t happen

1 point to Everton - at least they didn't win and they play Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday so really shouldn't get anything from that game. Helps big time so long as we get points from the Palace game.

WJ and Eire thinking we keep what we have and Add to it with 2 or 3 new players goes against the 18+4 squad rule that Orta and Marsch want?

true about the ‘narrow’ formation v wingers.

Not sure a bielsa mark 2 exists though.

Still think there are more similarities than differences between bielsa and . It’s not keepball… it’s High energy, high press. Generally, It’s the same ‘type’ of player… even if there are some positional differences.

Marschball requires duracell bunnies too (just not overtrained ones:biggrin:). I guess he takes the batteries out overnight.

If a pro footballer can't handle the training, all the rest of the team did, maybe he should get another job.
Sounds like a lazy ****er that thinks he's the next big star, It's a no from me.

Rodrigo, Raphinha, Dallas and even Summerville look more than capable of playing the 'narrow winger' position where a good amount of guile is required. James and Harrison, in my opinion, might be the two that struggle a bit more. I also think Greenwood and Gelhardt can play in the advanced 10 role.

I personally think that Harrison had adapted well to the 'narrow winger' role. Can't say the same for James, but only because he hasn't really played there - he's been misplaced up front.

Wouldn’t disagree with that. Don’t think we’re short of options there… though suspect we might see incoming. It’s the front 2 that’s intriguing. Given how infrequently we can get our ‘strikers’ fit.

Watched the Everton game and fair play to them they really kept at it. Frustrating and annoying though as Leicester had chances to finish them off. Late pressure from Everton proved costly as they just kept getting the ball forward and eventually something dropped their way through sheer persistance rather than any quality.

Not the worst result for us and now we move onto Burnley v Wolves tomorrow.

If Everton went down, I wonder what release fee clause Richarlison has.

    Quite correct <ok>

Hard to see Saints being up to the task to be honest.

Probably doesn't have one but then that will be offset by not having any wage reduction clause either.

No doubt they've been using the Mr P Risdale consultancy book for how to spend loads of dough and yet also fail to plan ahead for every eventuality <ok>
