Surprised this hasn't sold out. Only 1700 tickets, new ground and only 90 mins up road made me think it'd sell really quickly.

At last an explanation for the gradual demise and eventual loss of the screen over the Northam end “It should be said that Southampton are in the process of installing new LED screens at St Mary’s too, but the project hit a snag when it was discovered structural work needed to be carried out to make the stadium safe to house them“ I had to keep asking the time at the Arsenal game
That's old news it was reported a long time ago. No clock on your mobile phone? https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/...n-progress-of-the-new-big-screens-at-st-marys
Rather irritatingly there's engineering works on 7th May for the Brentford game. I'd be able to get to Clapham Junction ok but then it gets complicated. So instead I'm going to drive to Hounslow and get the tube from there.
Apparently the roof isn’t strong enough for the new screens which they didn’t initially realise. Some suggestion that the roof structure has been corroded by proximity to the Solent/Itchen. Could be a pretty big piece of work required, almost sounds like the stadium needs a new roof… And yeah the screen above Northam is down for almost every second game which is irritating, constantly having to look at my watch is getting somewhat annoying, minor inconvenience I know but we were promised it would be sorted as part of the sell for this seasons STs. St Mary’s doesn’t seem to be doing well for a venue only 20 years old. Wouldn’t be surprised if some of us live to see its replacement, or a complete rebuild.
I drove up to their old ground without any problems a few years back. Looking at where their new ground is I would image it would be even easier to drive to, just off the M4.
It's the same for Brighton on Sunday. Trains are pretty much non-existent unless you want a 3 hour journey each way with part of it on a bus...!! I wasn't going to bother once I saw how much of a hassle it would be, especially post-Chelsea, but then typical Saints bring the buzz back so looks like I'll be driving
I'll be driving to Brighton. Assume the matchday trains are still running from Brighton to Falmer...??
Yeah, believe so. I just chose Lewes as it's dead easy to get in and out of, it's just off the A27 and it costs £2.25 to park in the station car park all day on a Sunday.
