Is Tielemans still playing as well as he did in his Leicester loan season ?? Only see him in games vs Spurs, and he has not been stand-out in those.
If any new manager decides he want's Bergwijn and £40m is a fair price then so be it, all he will need to do then is get the best out of him to show he was right. Managers stand or fall on this kind of decision.
Up until this season he’d been very good for them, plus it was his beauty of a goal that won them the FA Cup last season. But this season it’s as if he’s had his mind on a move already and it’s shown in a lot of performances. If the rumours are correct that us and Utd want him and Eriksen then I think Eriksen picks us and Tielemans picks Utd.
CB Watch The Daily Wail have taken a break from parroting Jacob Rees Mogg's pathetic defence of his boss to say that we're monitoring Atletico Madrid CB Mario Hermoso Hardly an original story, as Santi Arouna said the same thing almost word-for-word last summer, but it does seem to indicate a trend as between Hermoso and Bosko Gvardiol, it appears that we are looking at left-sided CBs ...that being said, a little further digging unearthed The Pathetic also getting in on linking us with left-sided CBs, and they've mentioned Gvardiol, Sven Botman, Alessandro Bastoni and Nico Schlotterbeck - although it seems Botman is headed for Milan while Schlotterbeck is in Dortmund's sights, so on the plus side that's two less plates for Paratici to spin
Asking for the loan-back is going to scupper the deal, surely? I can understand that if we bid in January, but a season-long loan back? At that point we may as well shrug and sign Romagnoli for £0.00
He's 19. Surely loaning him back (or at least out) is quite probable? If we can also do that while recruiting improvements for free, then great.
The two main criticisms of a season-long loan-back I have are i.) What happens if Peterborough loan in half a team's worth of players, as happened with Leeds when we loaned back Jack Clarke for a season? Does Edwards get into the team, or does he get benched or, worse, dropped? Which leads us to ii.) What if Peterborough invest the Edwards fee into a replacement CB, does Edwards start alongside the replacement or does he make way, as is happening with Pape Matar Sarr bouncing around Metz's starting lineup (as well as in and out of it) as he's lost his starting place to summer signing Boubacar Traore And, looking at the Championship table, there's a third criticism to make iii.) As things stand now, it's entirely possible that Peterborough could drop down to League One, so we'd be loaning him back to play at a lower league than the one we signed him from
Hopefully we'll have learned something from our very mixed loans recently. We shouldn't be repeating those mistakes and should be including assurances in contracts. Peterborough look pretty dead in the water, so you'd assume a loan back would be, too.
Italian reports saying we’re to make a €50m offer for Bremer and Singo… now for the freebie move for Belotti and that’s those 3 birds done.
Yeah both but we’d be willing to go higher apparently. I wouldn’t pay €50m for Bremer alone to be honest, doesn’t look as good as Romero albeit still a very decent defender. If they wanted €85m for the pair I wouldn’t blame the club if they looked elsewhere, don’t think they’re worth that sort of outlay yet.
I think Bremer is superb, think he could reach Van Dike levels one day. Maybe my assumption of €85m for both is a bit too high but think it would take €70m
Nah I wouldn’t agree with that, I think Romero is comfortably better than Bremer and it’s even a tough ask to see Romero reaching van Dijk levels, though he can definitely come close. Bremer would improve us but if Torino want anything more than €50m for him I don’t think it’d be worth it. €60m for the pair would probably be the max I think they’re worth. There’s a lot more sense in going for Romagnoli in my opinion, similar level of player to Bremer, left footed so competes nicely with Davies and the fact he’s free makes it more appealing to the club so we can focus funds elsewhere.
