The irony would be beautiful if the season suddenly ended and they used PPG to relegate Wycombe from 5th to 7th
So long as we beat Cambridge next week, as Sheff Wed play Wycombe, today was a good draw. I thought Plymouth were the only team that looked like winning in the last 20. If we intend on playing 3 or 5 at the back never play O'Nien and Clarke there again. That was our weak link. I thought Evans, apart from a couple of misplaced passes, was outstanding. Covered a lot of ground. Patterson, Wright and Matete were decent. No one else played well. I like Broadhead. He just needs to sharpen up his first touch and decision making.
I'd freshen it up for Saturday. Dan Neil and Roberts would come in, also Batth and go to a back 4. Stewart looks dead on his feet but I don't think we can afford to drop him.
Derby and Barnsley down, Peterborough just a matter of time. Leauge one getting harder every season. Talksport 2 saying before that match that Neil knows that if he gets us up that's there's funds there to spend, speculation or stab in the dark? Couple of things said before the game on TS, that I don't agree with and gives the wrong impression of us 1.Strikers feel a pressure to replicate the Quinn and Phillps days. Load of ****e. 2. If it isn't going well (for the manager, the fans will let you know).Load of ****e. The fact the owners have been trigger happy over the years isn't really to do with the fans as such. So when that's gets said on national radio, and how many managers the clubs been through it'll be a case of "oh so that's why" from the outside looking in. They did say we're a big club blah blah blah. However there will be "30 thousand pitch forks out for him (Neil) if they don't go up". I think they're mistaken us for out former rivals up the road.
As long as Broadhead is ok (looked like he was feeling a bit of a groin injury) then I would rest him as well. He looks shot to bits at the moment. Saying that, the reason we are short is purely down to Speakman and the January window. Letting Flanno and O'Brien go were mistakes. Not the best footballers but I reckon they would have been very useful
We all know that Stewart is having a little barren goal scoring spell. We also all know he is good on the air... he scores goals... how many crosses did he get today, compared with long-range over the top...
I haven't been impressed by him at all though @RTB . Yes he's had his moments but I don't think he's s team player which is what you need for this league. He's so infuriating at times, he'll try taking on 2 or 3 defenders when there's an easy 5 yard pass on that can be crossed into the box. Maybe he would be better as a number 10 but we have a few players that can play there
oh aye, winnie...for some reason pushing players off the pitch is accepted now, it's one of those 'it never used to happen' things.
Roll on tomorrow’s games then. Neil needs to get a better tune out of our lot for the rest of the season mind. I could do without the last game nerve shredding…. it’s feckin tight at the bottom n’all.
The top 6 have won only 3 of the last 12 games between them ... ... as I keep saying nerves are frazzled and anything can happen.
That is the sort of gutter level crap, expounded by semi literate, know little gabblemouths, that stops me from ever listening to it now From a time when it was not a that bad, though annoying at times, it has now reached the lowest point a broadcaster can reach.
Think AN was conscious of their record at home, hence Evans, Matte and Onien all in the team together. Fair enough , they had won the last eight or nine at home. I felt we needed Dan Neill on earlier to try and get a clever pass through their defence. But a point might be really important if we beat Cambridge next week.
Hopefully we still have our big boy pants on. I agree with your earlier post that we will get 9 points from the remaining games now.
