    It may be bigoted against the North, but fortunately Northern folk don't understand the word "bigot".

    The British team is ranked in 28th position in the world and Ísland 39th, we have 1095 registered skaters and Britain 2350 and in women the British team is ranked in 18th position in the world and Ísland 29th, we have 415 registered skaters and Britain 1925.

    The male team played the first international game in 1999 and lost 0-11 to Israel.

    If you take out the Canadians and Eastern Europeans from the British numbers (and the dual national Canadians from the British team - the England cricket team has South Africans and the British ice hockey team has Canadians who aren't good enough for the NHL) you'd find Britain lower down the rankings than we are and with a lot fewer registered skaters than we currently have.

    Have just been reading about my second favourite team, Brisbane Roar. This afternoon they won 7-1 - stretching their unbeaten run to 32.

    Wouldn't it be nice.........sigh
