well 4 points from 2 games is what I forcast! but wrong way round ... lets hope getting it the wrong way round helps tomorrow!
I hope Nigel uses these games to give some of the fringe players a runout. I’m not saying we shouldn’t try to win - but the youngsters should play some part.
Nah play for the win, I want us to be in the position that we survived even if Derby never had a points reduction. I don’t want to be that club that only survived because another was penalised.
THAT IS THE TRUTH we dont want to relyon other clubs results...! we need at least 5 more points in case they go W W W W
Well for my own part I’m already looking at next season. How we end this one doesn’t bother me but how we end next one does.
Bristol City predicted team vs Sheffield United: Williams rested and a decision over Semenyo Manager Nigel Pearson will be reluctant to make many changes to the side that beat Stoke on Friday https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-predicted-team-williams-6965155 Bristol City (3-5-2): Bentley, Dasilva, Atkinson, Klose, Cundy, Scott, James, Massengo, Weimann, Martin, Semenyo
Another game against a team in receipt of parachute payments and in a play off place. 4 of the top 6 are still receiving parachute payments. Fulham (who are going up), Bournemouth (who still have 1 more season if they fail to get promoted), Huddersfield (for them and Cardiff it's their final year in receipt), Sheffield United (who along with WBA still have 2 more years of payments) and 3 more teams to come down, so there will still be a minimum of 4 teams receiving handouts. A recent study by Sheffield university stated that teams in receipt of parachute payments are 4 times likely to be promoted, whilst teams who are not are 3 times more likely to be relegated. It gives them more spending power and it fends off any FFP worries and they only have sell players who want to stay and are good enough for the premiership. Certainly not a level playing field.
Sheff Utd have their first 4 choice strikers out injured. What's the odds they still score against us? At least Billy Sharp is out as he always scores against us.
They look good in their build up, they have better quality players and thank goodness, so far, they have strikers missing. Bentley needs to settle down. We'll do well to stay in this game.
33 points dropped from winning positions prior to this game. The highest in the Championship (well I suppose it’s good to be best at SOMETHING!!) Nigel needs to fix this priority number 1.
35 points now… We would be 3rd…. Our defending is just nowhere near good enough. A good point today though, we competed against a good side. One of our better performances this season
