Was there mate and cant say i noticed. Chaz has never been the same player since injury, you can see it when he runs, its like a slight limp where he has to slow down awkwardly. He will always be a fave of mine and the striker i want in the box if crosses come in.
I love Chaz for what he's done for us in the past but both he and Johansrn should be released no matter who the manager is. Quite simply their legs are gone, and we as a team desperately need some pace in the side. Johansen has been awful this season, a shadow of what he was on loan last season and Charlie seems more interested in being on radio shows and social media. Thanks for the memories but we need to get rid of all the dead wood and the injury prone players. Start afresh with a young vibrant squad with a few older heads thrown in.
I agree in general but I remember seeing Johansen play for Norway in the season before he joined us, he was terrible, well off the pace and was subbed at HT not fully fit then either apparently. At a higher level maybe. But he obviously got fit again by the way he played for us on loan last season, but for much though not all off this season he has reminded me of that Norway game. I just think he and Austin could possibly use the summer to get properly fit again and supply a part of the few older heads you mention. Believe they are both contracted to us anyway next season and doubt they would sell for much as they are now.
The question being would you want to waste two of the 25 squad places on them. If I was a young attacker at QPR and Austin was blocking my way, or the club got another old crock in on loan, I might well consider trying my chances elsewhere.
Yes maybe, guess the Management would be overseeing their pre-season and make those decisions on how well or not they are doing. They aren't that old. I thought young players were exempted from being in that 25 man squad, don't know what that age limit is - U 21, U23? But that would allow us to play the likes of Armstrong for example.
There you go again..... My "new messiah"? What the ****? You seem very angry about my views on Warburton mate. Perhaps we should just agree to differ eh?
Don’t know why you’re so tetchy Col … or taking it as a direct comment to you alone. It’s not all about you mate, there are others with similar views too. Trust me I’m not at all angry. Just sharing points of view on a forum. No strong words. No swearing. No personal attacks. Just POV and my own perspective. Take a chill pill, listen to some relaxing music, take a walk in the sunshine, smile at yourself in the mirror - you’ll feel better.
Maybe they were busting a gut to get a contract as Fulham and Brom wanted them off their books. Once they were given the contracts by us the desire to perform was lessened, although I feel that both are over the hill now. To be fair Johansen had been complete **** for Fulham the season before and they knew his time was up.
A similar poll had 98% happy with signing Johansen permanently ! I haven't seen any of them admit they were wrong on that one either.
Whatever. You made the comments in a reply to me. You say things and never back them up. When have I ever said any possible replacement would be "a messiah"? Any replacement, if it happens, may do well or may fail, who knows? What you fail to acknowledge is that many of your points are absolutely agreed by everyone. You act as if those who feel Warburton can't take us any further are being absolutely insane to suggest such a thing. Re-writing history isn't the answer. Anyway, I'm perfectly chilled thanks, sat in the garden with a glass of wine. Enjoy your weekend.
And if we had been on our current run of form at the beginning of the season even more would want him gone. Nowt so fickle as a football fan.
Im stuck in the middle with Warbles but i honestly think that we are years away from a return to the Premier league. Credit where credit is due, with Eze and Samuel gone and losing the loans of Wells and co, i honestly thought, where do we go now?. So i think that maybe we surpassed my expectations by being in the top 6 for most of the season with a squad that would not last 2 minutes in the top flight. Now if i am to give credit and praise then its only fair to be able to criticise also and i have a few gripes from the last 2 months or so. Many i have already said, so i wont repeat myself. If we are to lose some of our better players, which i truly expect to be the case, then hopefully Warbles can surpass my expectations again and produce a team capable of seeing it through. The ambition has to start right at the top. How can you try to stop players heads turning, like Field, Dieng, Willock, Chair , Dickie and so on, if the ambition is to just float about mid table. Players want to play at the highest level possible, we have to try prove to them and the fans that the club is striving for that too. Its many a season away in my opinion.
