Sod Ramadan, give me Rama-Jan (Bednarek). Who wanted to get rid of him (Tom)? Name and shame, name and shame!!
I’ve been watching this again recently, brilliant. I love the bit where Roy pretends to be a West Ham fan because he sees a joint of ham in the pub.
I meant when he was rested for the Poland game. By the way, for all we know, both the Ramadan and Poland talk from Ralph could just be smokescreen for, “I’m dropping him cos he’s a donkey”.
Tom, that's your opinion, please respect other peoples views. It is a small courtesy and costs you nothing.
Couldn’t make it to the Man City or Chelsea games in recent weeks but I was back at St.Mary’s for what was a horrible but brilliant game from us. Definitely not pretty, but today was massive for us in terms of showing togetherness, working hard for each other and just sticking at it. Grit, determination, and the long albatross arms of Fraser Forster and we've somehow come away with 3 points. We had nothing going forward, couldn’t string two passes together, but today was about trying to stay solid and grinding out a result and we couldn’t have asked for more from the players from that point of view. Also a shout out to Arsenal for being blunt up front too, appreciated. Final word has to go out to Big FF with The Best goalkeeping performance that I can remember seeing from a Saints GK in a long time! COYR
No, it's a forum for discussion and opinion, it is not, as your have put it - "people are meant to disagree". You imply this is a forum for aggression. That's not why l joined not606 all those years ago and l am sure most on here feel the same.
Three things topoint out about today's match. The first is that Fraser Forster was incredible today. I 100% concur that it was one of the best goalkeeper performances from Saints for years. Secondly, I think that the performance today was really Puelesque. It was wjayt you would call a pragmatic performance, with Saints producing the kind of display that we would normally be more likely to put in during an away performances. It was exactly what was needed. My third point really concerns Arsenal. They were like a well-oiled machine that had no purpose. I think the BBC has them down as 78% posession. Granted that Forster kept us in the match, I just feel that this current Arsenal team are well short of being in a position where they will be challenging for silverware. I concur with Dave Merrington's comments about Arteta giving younger players the opportunity but I would argue that they are lacking a few wise heads in that team to make the correct choices sometimes. On top of this, they have no natural striker placing for them today. There was an observation that Arteta was re-building a new Arsenal side and that the malaise from the latter part of Wenger's tenure was being addressed. Today's performance comes in a run of poor Arsenal performances and I just felt that this team is light years away from the likes of Man CIty, Liverpool and Cheslea. I doubt if they would be a match for West Ham. It will be interesting to read the Arsenal bpard, I think. Ben White looked a long way off being a £50 million player.
I really hate it when teams defend in depth and then score with their only shot on target, unless it’s Saints, then I love it! Same again at Burnley, please.
Just reading the Arsenal forum. Most of them are either cursing Fraser or moaning at Cedric's crosses.
