Still a European trophy though and there's some big clubs in the (outside of Leicester) semis.
I understand the big clubs taking the piss but it's laughable when fans of any of the other 88 clubs do so - they'd all be absolutely delighted to be in a Euopean semi vs Roma.

On the money Libby ... last performance against PSV (second in the Dutch league and previously unbeaten in 15 games) was far and away our best of the season - Rennes, PSV and Roma versus playing Watford, Burnley and Norwich?
Also, those of us old enough will know that there used to be 3 European completions before UEFA turned it into the cash cow league format ...
Absolutely, loving our continuing journey as a football club ...

Did it use to be the European Cup, European Cup winners Cup, and the Fairs Cup?
Yup . .

Would they?
I think if you asked a lot of fans , including those who skirt with PL relegation, would they rather have promotions or stability in the PL verses a night in Europe playing for a cup which is the equivalent of the old inter toto (hope I’ve said that correctly), I think most would choose the promotions or stability.

Newcastle won the old version of the eufa Cup...
Fairs Cup became the eufa then the Europa league and now they've stuck this Cup on the end of it.
I suppose if you've never been in Europe much its a big deal

I didn't see who Leicester have in the next round, but if it's Roma, pretty decent tie against Jose that.
... great to be in that company tbf
Newcastle won nowt in our lifetime.![]()
... winning it is the equivalent of a Europa League place spot in the Prem table for next season, as well as lifting a trophy ... so I suspect they would... and we have never been more stable as a club in our history ...
