My work colleague went to see a Van Morrison gig where he performed the entire thing with his back to the audience.

Also just remembered that an acquaintance went to a Joe Jackson gig when "Is She Really Going Out With Him" was really big. He came on for the encore having not played it and proceeded to tell the audience, with many expletives, that if they wanted to hear that they should go out and buy it or listen to the radio.

I wonder if it comes naturally to some of these guys or they have to go on a special dickhead training course?

I thought that was Neal Hefti, who also collaborated with Count Basie who I did see live (with his big band) but they didn't play the Batman theme!!

I saw Neil Young when he did his Tonights the Night tour, he made this album when he was going through drug and drink rehab, he played it in his entirety , the crowd were calling out for his more popular songs and he promised to do songs that they had heard before, he then started to play the album again <laugh>

I also saw the folk blues guitarist Davy Graham, I knew we were in for hard time when his roadie came on and played hisk well known numbers , Graham staggered on and told an absolutely filthy joke about Catholics ,played a couple of out of tune songs fell Of the stage and was carried out never to return , we got our money back that night and he died a couple of weeks later

I've seen Van many times and it is a lottery as to his mood , you never know what you're getting and the same is said for his band as some nights he has no clue what he will play until the mood takes him on stage , one that's rarely heard live is Brown eyed girl as his record company ripped him off over the rights

At last I have my amp back from the manufacturer, only took 3 attempts to fix it and in the end they sent me new 2022 upgraded model , today will be spent doing hifi stuff and shouting at the grandkids and dogs not to go near it , first play will be a Gil Scott Heron album cos it feels like that kind day, hopefully Citeh and scouse kick lumps out of each other and draw

Edit: The proxy thing has stopped working again, back in the box and a 50 mile round trip, the amp was dumped on the counter and a refund demanded , so much for Denons reputation , now got a Nad so let's see if this can work for more than a week

Talk about late to the game but only recently discovered Beach Bunny and have managed to get tickets for their gig at The Forum, Kentish Town in November. Last time I was there was October '91 when it was still the Town and Country Club to see Dinosaur Jr ably supported by the Boo Radleys, a fine night indeed. My major concern is will they actually let me in? I can see them refusing entry on the grounds of age, too old obviously!

As long as you don't ask if they do a reduction for OAPs you should get away with it

The last band that I saw there had a 59-year-old singer and George Clinton's playing there next month.
    I think you'll be ok! <laugh>

Paul Weller's got a couple of gigs there next week, too. Seems a small venue for him.

I like the KT Forum, couple of decent pubs nearby and places to eat and across the road from the station

It's such a strong memory that I can still remember the early listens with mates. It was obviously a great album from first listen and has also aged really, really well. My original '77 pressing has taken a real battering...and rightly so.

Likewise, I went to see them in a dingy club in Brighton, still one of my favourite gigs

My nephew sent me a link to the band Khruangbin and I realised that I'd heard them before on the track " Texas Sun by Leon Bridges, since they were brought to my attention I'm hearing the name all over the place, they would be a great band to see late on a warm summers afternoon with a few beers

    Social media...well, a bit of it...has been ablaze...well, I've seen almost 100 comments...regarding Captain leaving The Damned/retiring from touring.

Obviously, it's all complete bollocks, as I told Mrs B. Death wouldn't get him to leave The Damned again...but the fact that he's a loony anti-Vaxxer means that he's not getting into the US any time soon, either. The rest of the band aren't going to wait around for that, so they're going to fulfil the US tour supporting Blondie, without him. They've recruited Troy Van Leeuwen from Queens Of The Stone Age as a stand in (should be interesting), what with Will Taylor as the new drummer it could be a radical new sound.

Elsewhere, all is very much the same. The new album is currently so late as to be considered missing and the two and a half year edit of the footage of The Night of 1,000 Vampires gig at The Palladium continues....<laugh>
