Absolutely it is but when you post something you know will provoke, you have to expect what comes with it mate.
Got to say I'm over the moon the club didn't cave in to the demands of Bent and Gyan. Anyone who would rather chase the buck can **** right off. How would it have looked if we had agreed to pay Bent 85k a week? Does anyone not think the rest of the squad may have been a bit put out! Hanging on to players who want away is a very risky business. Just ask Man City. The timing of Bent's treachery was indeed unfortunate but cannot be laid at Bruce's door. As for the infamous three month slump, well that was more down to 10 first teamer's being injured rather than one little twat ****ing off.
its not blind faith, i support bruce, you dont, thats fine, I am entitled to my opinion just as much as you or cest, so get off your ****ing high horse. and you dont post **** that will provoke cest lol but its true, if we do get beat, we will have posters saying that, was not saying you two would but some will.
WE didnt have to succumb to any demands. Both players were on lengthy contracts and could/should have been made to honour them unless replacements had been found. You seem to miss the point that it not the fact they were let go that pisses me off it the fact they were allowed to at the drop of a hat without anyone coming in. The club/Bruce knew what we didnt and that was that Judas wanted away back in the August and just did **** all about it. They should have been sourcing replacements if they were going to let him go so easily. As for the Man City shout, we aint Man City mate and they have something like 7 international strikers on their books WITHOUT Tevez. They can happiuly **** him off and still have a top class strikeforce. We cant. As I said, other clubs have said n to their top players wanting away until they have replacements in place. Bruce, Quinn whoever you want to blame were at fault for allowing this to happen not once but twice inside 6 months. Once bitten twice shy as they say. Alarm bells should have been ringing the second Gyan said he was unsettled and replecements sought back in May/June.
After this weekend we "could" be 8th if other results go our way, OK it will more than likely be 10th when they dont, but you never know (we have to win first mind). If someone had said to me at the start of the season, you will be 8th to 10th after 10 games and 3-6 points off 6th (depending on how the other teams do) i would have bit their hands off. I know it hasnt all been rosey and nice, neat atttacking football, and there has been some pretty bad displays in that run as well, but its a marathon not a sprint. Bruce tried something, maybe Whickam/Ji just were not up to the task of giving him 90 minutes at 100% earlier, but more training etc has got their stamina levels up and now they can (well wickham can). we just dont know what happens in training and what Bruce sees. Even i was mystified with the lineup against Brighton, he should have at least played Gyan, but i have a feeling he already knew he was on his way then, even though he said he didnt, he tried something, it didnt work but more for the fact sess couldnt score in a brothel at the time, than the system being a shambles for me, he has changed it, probaly 4 games too late, but meh at least he has changed it. Maybe if we can get a team like Barca he can try it again in the future (i wish)
"You seem to miss the point that it not the fact they were let go that pisses me off it the fact they were allowed to at the drop of a hat without anyone coming in. The club/Bruce knew what we didnt and that was that Judas wanted away back in the August and just did **** all about it. They should have been sourcing replacements if they were going to let him go so easily." When you put it like that it all sounds so easy this Football lark. How do you know they were allowed to leave at the drop of a hat? A fact I very much doubt. "As for the Man City shout, we aint Man City mate and they have something like 7 international strikers on their books WITHOUT Tevez. They can happiuly **** him off and still have a top class strikeforce. We cant." Damn right mate. We can't afford to pay players a huge wage unless they give 100% week in week out. For both Bent and Gyan. They weren't even trying weeks before they left. Good riddance to them.
Steve - there is no doubt that 8th and 12 points will be quite acceptable but there are underlying currents of discintent that Bruce himself has created. These derby games are a millstones for him now and I cant see us getting **** all March over there to be honest, so that will be 4 **** ups in derby games in 2 seasons. Then there is the playing of no strikers in competitive games; Bent and Gyan ****ing off and no replacents sought; no addressing of the problems of the left hand side; good players desptroyed by playing them out of position; poor tactical decisions during games; the list is endless. He has to start addressing the problems as well as cheering the good points and that starts with playing and beating Villa tomorrow. Only by putting a little run together can he hope to win over his detractors but he must start soon to shiow he has the ability to turn us round as a club. When he has a season where relegation isnt mentioned as a posibilty (both his full seasons have seen us skirt with it and this year we have been at the wrong end from the beginning) can he hope to stop the critics once and for all.
No one is saying we should have given them more money or pander to their demands but what all of Bruces critics are quite rightly saying is he let them go without any thoughts as to what it would do to the team, the season or the fans. If Bent and Gyan were just greedy mercenary ****ers who demanded more money, then by all means good riddance but only when they have been replaced. If your car was not working very well but still running, you wouldnt just take the engine out and hope the car would still work without it would you? You would get a replacement engine in first and then chuck the old one away. It isnt that hard to work out really.
Not sure who was pulling the strings on the Bent move. The day he moved Bruce was having a meal with a SAFC official(finance director I think) in cafe 21. I was there with a work do and managed to get a few words (in the toilet - no wise cracks) with Bruce who was gutted and didn't seem to know he was leaving until it was done. Same as Gyan. I was in the car going to the match, Bruce saying he is going nowhere(OK recorded) and next minute he was gone. If it was Bruce's decision I don't think either would have left (at that particular time anyway) as it left so little time to replace both. Convinced it all went on above Bruce's head.
Well done for your 2nd win of the season.... but a "winning formula".... Bolton are probably the worst side in the league at home, i wouldn't get too excited.
I await your imminent slump with much anticipation. As sure as eggs are eggs you'll be bottom half come May.
What are you talking about man. They are better than all the other teams in this league ya knaa!!! The toon are back and all of their players are the greatest and worth 100m each. Wonder how Perch and Williamson will cope when Colocinni is sold in January to fund Agent Ashleys gambling and parties.
That's the question. Don't think I have ever heard Bruce say (ala saggy chops) "Mr chairman deals with the money side of things" and all that clap trap. What did Quinn do as chairman? Did he make the the deals, set the wage, agree to the transfer etc. I. sure he did. Bruce=team tactics (in the loosest possible terms)only . Quinn=money matters.??? Big bucks coming in...Bruce no say.
just going to analyze your points here, we both have different views, doesnt need to descend into a slanging match. Derby games, i just think they have more togetherness than us, they also have history on their side in them, pressure is all on us to do something in them, the 5-1 was probably a blessing in disguise (even though it was the worst moment for me virtually ever, in footballing terms.) as we went on a great run after it, we will beat them one day, but i dont think its just Bruce that is at fault, its the expectation of the thing. No strikers in compettive games, its been 2 hasnt it, Brighton where we should have had enough on the field anyway to beat them, we didnt, and Arsenal where Bendtner couldnt play, Whickham had a niggling injury, and Ji had just played 2 games for South Korea the week before. We were after a striker, thats why we sold anton, but the deal took that long, our stiker purchase fell through at the last minute, and surely its Short with the purse strings, all Bruce can do is say, can I have him please, and its up to Short whether he gets him or not (with ££££). Left hand side = who is there, richardson does look like he is improving, and I think he would make a great attacking wing back, but as a LB i dont think he is there yet, he does get down the channels and makes great overlapping runs, just no one passes to him when he does, or we loose the ball and he is out of position, but he does try. Most teams play players out of position, England are still struggling to find a regular LW they played gerrard there for years, and he isnt a LW by any stretch of the imagination, not saying its the right thing to do, but its understandable for me. Poor tactical decicions: maybe the decisions are fine, its the players that cant interprete them very well, or it all goes to pieces, I dont know, maybe it is just Bruce being a plank. last year was close, but i believe even if we had lost to wigan, we would have still stayed up, i looked at that months ago but cant remember now, yes we did go on an horendous run, but that was more for injuries than tactical decisions I believe. We also have a £9milion keeper thats been crocked for the best part of 2-3 years, that cant help any team in the PL never mind us. can you imagine Man U playing with lindegaard for the next 2 years, and we even had to loan Fullop to Man City as they had a goalkeeping crisis.
Sorry Cest. Forgot where I was then... I still think they are this years Blackpool, just without all the goodwill the Tangerines had.
I'm just happy we have a winable game tomorrow, I will be there, Bent adds spice so I will leave all the old arguments and hope we never have them again. When it comes to advice from tash, even the Newcastle fans dont listen to him so why should we.
