TBH it seems to be getting quite personal and nasty towards those who have been invited - I fear it could spill into problems at the games particularly with the on pitch results !!

One thing to be annoyed at the club but another to start calling fellow fans names - not that they weren’t before .

I hardly think the podcast guys or supporters groups are so in house they will not have any concerns or issues with the club.

I can see why the club would be put off by certain members and their attitude tbh .

Their views are Vapor but not how they put them and come across.

But I do think an open fans forum would have been better as this has clearly been a PR disaster .

Or certainly allow what was said to be publicly discussed - suppose they are worried what the media would get hold of.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it got scrapped or changed.

All a bit pointless anyway now as we are probably going down and I cannot imagine there has been much thought into next season when we will have another new manager and probably lots of player movements.

    Better late than never .

I don’t think we will be seeing development of the ground for a while unless we bounce back .

The financial situation doesn’t sound too healthy but then which clubs are ..

Not next season to be sure, but possibly before that long. Udinese have been a mid table side for a long time, usually flirting with relegation most seasons, yet they developed their stadium into a 25,000 all seater one. The SEJ stand was built and looked as though the steelwork was prepared for an additional tier, that would hold about another 3,000. That takes you up to the 25k number, which for a midtable team is probably going to be enough for the time being. Fans on seats is not where the money comes from. It is only when you get to the largest stadia and clubs that the number of fans becomes a real money spinner. I always thought that building the flats behind the Rookery was a mistake as they limit expansion in that direction. With the hospital redevelopment it may become possible to have some land behind the GT stand. The hospital and club have been partners for a long time in the redevelopment of the whole area, so the club will have a voice in such matters.

There were also suggestions of building a tier above the Vic Road end

Can anyone give me any advice on which part of the stadium I should try and get tickets in or near. Last time I went I was standing in corner at the Vicarage Rd end nearest the hospital.

It may well depend upon whether or not we are already down by then. If not, I'd recommend taking what you can get as I imagine it will be a near-capacity crowd and tickets will go quickly. If we are - and Everton aren't - I'd recommend the Rookery, to be as far away from the Scousers as possible - am sure they would be buying the tickets they could everywhere else around the ground.

If it's the view you're thinking about, I'd suggest the Rookery - but, aside from one game in the not-to-be-recommended Lower GT, I have never been in any of the other stands so can't really comment on what they are like.

Thanks BB, it's the Leicester game I can go to. Isn't the Rookery a bit boistrous?

I think that may depend on whereabouts the 1881 folk are these days. They used to be at one end - the GT stand side - but I heard they had moved. I've lost track of all the bay/section numbers, but when I get a seat there, it's with friends, about halfway up and slightly to the right of centre of the goal as you look at the pitch. Excellent view from there, noisy but not boisterous.

    Hasn't been this season.

    1881 been pretty quiet.

Things might get ugly in there though if it's a game where we are relegated.

    By Watford standards.

Some have called for boycotts and protests...I mean not sure that is going to happen.

I would suggest the Upper Graham Taylor stand would be best for you, or as high up the lower as possible. At that time of year it will be in the shade and get a good view. Also the bars etc are good on that side.

Thanks to all for advice. I think I will go for the Upper GT stand as I am taking Mrs S to her first football match as she is going to buy the tickets for yesterdays birthday and has agreed to come <diva> :emoticon-0166-cake:. She is also allergic to sunlight (?!) :emoticon-0157-sun: so shade would be good too.
