I think when the original 606 was active, and then going through the crisis that resulted in this site, we had a number of very active other sites, and few of our posters even knew about 606 or Not606. It was only as some alternative interesting events occurred, particularly on the old Rivals network leaving it to close, that we were actively recruited over to here. It's generally okay on here, but I think the old rivals network would take some beating for memories and events, and each bit was left to run pretty much autonomously under a broad framework, so there was an initial settling in period on here where a line had to be found between posters from different forums, that were used to different standards, which was 'interesting' as people were more than ready to express their views (and follow up threats) in person when they met particularly with moderators, which provided some interesting lessons in people skills for some not used to that, and the set up from Rivals meant many posters were more than used to arguing their point with some quite high profile people and legal bods, which again gave a grounding in moderation that some other boards would have lacked. But like with so many things, times change, and we move one.
