Yes they were loans - but that would still have eased the wages situation with FFP in mind. Besides, we have been virtually safe for ages now and NP wasn't playing Wells, so (to me) it would have made perfect sense with a minimal risk to us.
Also, often a loan ends up being made permanent so it could have ended up with him leaving - but Nigel said no.

I think I stated a month or so back that we were safe ..... it is a law of diminishing returns . the pot available deceases by 3 every game .. we are on 45pts most can be 60 points we need to finish on 52 at least... reality is NP has failed already, states we have the players but he has been unable to blend them into success ..stubborn attitude means has to play round pegs in square holes.
Acusses there being a passive attitude .. Bakinson speaks up and sent away ...........Taylor moore had a bad game in the eyes of NP sent away ..... Palmer [ quality at times ] shunned .. Nahki shown a few times dropping him into u23's can score no game time ... Scott played out of position ..

Just to add; if Wells HAD gone to Cardiff or Swansea - and started scoring for fun - his stock would have risen and he’d be well and truly in our shop window.
    Anyway, it wasn’t to be.

has no real value now even if scored 5 goals in next 5 games .... age .. might get £1-2m if lucky and did score 5 or so

It’s his wages that are a problem, no one wants to pay that much anymore, considering his age as well, we’re going struggle to even give him away

Your spot on he will not get offers even at 50% of what he is being paid at the gate.

That's why he is very happy here taken his £26k per week.

After years on this site since the old BBC days I can't help but notice that here we are still asking the same questions as to why Bristol City fail to meet the expectations of us all, including club management. From my very distant viewpoint it seems that we are truly a club who hasn't got a clue what success is yet alone achieve it and to wander around not knowing where to go makes the whole scenario even worse. I fear for next season if this total insanity continues, and I believe it has every chance of that, because we must look like a bunch of country bumpkins to the outside world and is it any wonder we can't attract personnel to get us out of this mire? So many good players that have graced the hallowed Ashton Gate turf have vanished either by their own choice or as part of the sell off to ensure our elevation to a higher level which has never come to fruition. Screw up after screw up followed by a good dose of apathy and failure to perform have been major contributing factors in our demise and unless someone knows where we can find some cheap building blocks that can last a full season we could very well be up ****e creek heading downstream.

Bluntly I can't see Nigel Pearson doing the job for us even though I thought he was the best thing since sliced bread when he arrived, but I think his Bristol City time has changed the man to a person who must question his own decision to sign on with a thoroughly dysfunctional club like us. Given his inability to get this lot even moving at a snail's pace is certainly a questionable part of his man management skills and it almost appears as if his heart is not in the right place at this moment in time. I expected more of this squad upon his arrival but quite obviously that hasn't happened and it begs the question as to who is to blame for our lack of anything tangible on which to build for next time around? Any major clear out may affect our ability to get a decent squad up and running because it takes time to gel out on the pitch and the dissenters will grab NP's (should he stay the course) proverbials as soon as you say 2 losses in a row.

We are up against a tsunami of our own making and it's time to face the facts that we have created an atmosphere of constant disappointment which doesn't bode well for a united effort to improve but there's always hope I suppose because that's what supporting Bristol City has always been about.

It’s a shame but inevitable that these ‘gem’ players don’t want to stay with Bristol City bumping along in the Championship when bigger better prospects are available
Cash in while we can I think.

I don’t imagine we’ll have that level of control, we’ll take whatever we can get, from whoever offers the best deal, and who the player wants to go to.

It was only after the 3-2 defeat against Coventry in November that Dasilva's time at Ashton Gate almost looked done and dusted. No appearances throughout December and it almost seemed inconceivable that he would remain a City player after January.

Around two months later he was back in the side, playing 50 minutes in a 6-2 defeat against Fulham and since then he has emerged as a mainstay.

It is comments like this that highlight chinks in NP.... WHEN A PLAYER HAS A BAD GAME naughty step for you!
