He might just be in a state of shock these days.

Watching an £80m fridge at the back and an £80m Alex Iwobi on the wing is enough to mentally destroy some people.

Rubbish footage - but Modric proving the old adage that form is temporary - class is permanent and Modric has been oozing class throughout his career

Why is it that Good Ebening is so outrageously successful in European competition?

    It's a bizarre one, isn't it?

He always seems to perform exceptionally well in Europe, but his teams underperform in their domestic league.

Villarreal are currently 8 points off a European spot in La Liga, so they're essentially throwing all their eggs into the CL basket right now. Should they get knocked out against Liverpool, they may well not be in any European competition next year.

He had a similar sort of issue at Sevilla (albeit not to the same degree), where they never finished in the CL spots once, and particularly in his last season, where Sevilla never won away from home, yet he still won them the Europa League. From what I read, Sevilla fans got quite frustrated with their inconsistency.

He's not someone who knows how to effectively balance out multiple competitions. I think this is fine if you are club (with all due respect) like Villarreal. But it also shows (partially) why he struggled at Arsenal.

Emery is great when he has a hard working team who buy into his system, but if not, it all unravels. And I don't think it's a coincidence that pretty much all his successful tenures have been in Spain (Valencia, Sevilla and Villarreal).

Having watched it, I've no idea what he's talking about.
The most obvious consequential wrong decision was the corner that they scored their second goal from.
He just seems to be trying to deflect some blame, to me.

What a bastard. String him up.

Honestly, I'd get why that would be annoying after a controversial or spiteful game.
If you feel stitched up by the officials, then that would be annoying.
I can't see how he'd be feeling that way after that match, though.

Atletico fans whistling and booing Phil Foden for getting elbowed in the head. Classy!

Phil Foden has had his head bandages changed at half-time to match City's kit.
That's possibly the most modern football thing ever.

Guardiola panicking and going overly defensive. Don't think he'd do that domestically.
