    I was a kid in the age of radio. 1940s Appointment with Fear had me so scared I used to run past the dark spare room on my way to bed.
    1950s serialised War of the Worlds was unmissable and breath holding.
    But in the 1940s &1950s the most unmissable of all was Dick Barton, Special Agent!
    I think creepy shows on radio were more frightening because you created the pictures in your own head.

    not so much when i was a kid but late teens into 20's.. Soap, funniest thing i ever watched but the politically correct of the time got it taken off the air.

    What about that weird Japanese series, was it called Monkey? Or Monkey Magic? The creators were on some serious drugs. I used to love it though.
