EXACTLY ... and with the wrong person in charge, whether party goer or not God help us all in the present clime
Really, so a boat load of 40 mixed country immigrants land near Dover, run off and melt into the population. So they are legally here until caught? I would say down to earth, in tune with what is happening / happens to politics ......
Your statement is conclusive until caught they are not illegal. The ones that give themselves up are illegally trying to get themselves retrospective permission as immigrants. Until that process is complete they are illegal. The ones that land and are not caught are here illegally, they have no paperwork to say you are here on legal terms.
come on Ashton, you can be better than that, stop scraping the barrel for scraps of attempted humour!
So according to some it doesn't matter if BJ commits crimes and then lies and misleads to try and deflect from it, because the war and Covid are far more important - and besides, other former leaders and some other MPs have lied too. That's alright then Breaking rules and lying to the nation is ok because past incumbents have also done it? No. Not in my book. To be an elected member of parliament is a huge privilege that MUST be respected. If one is found to have abused their office by way of lying, defrauding, or breaking any laws - no matter how trivial, or what party they represent, then they should be stripped publicly of that privilege and replaced by someone who will act with the dignity and conduct that the position demands and deserves. Special punishment and public humiliation should be reserved however for the Prime Minister - the main man - the lawmaker - he who must be obeyed - the leader of his party and our nation - because he represents ALL of us in this United Kingdom - whether we voted for him or not. Lets not forget that those bastards work for the people. They are supposed to serve the people - they must be held to account, and the message sent loud and clear that committing crimes, lying and misleading the Commons is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated or excused. I agree with the comments about Blair btw and firmly believe that former PMs should be hunted down and prosecuted if they have been found to have brought the position into disrepute.
'So according to some it doesn't matter if BJ commits crimes and then lies and misleads to try and deflect from it, because the war and Covid are far more important - and besides, other former leaders and some other MPs have lied too. That's alright then' You are twisting words from 'some' to suit your argument. I certainly don't think it's OK to lie/mislead. What 'some' are saying is many are crooks, liars and cheats. 'To be an elected member of parliament is a huge privilege that MUST be respected. If one is found to have abused their office by way of lying, defrauding, or breaking any laws - no matter how trivial, or what party they represent, then they should be stripped publicly of that privilege and replaced by someone who will act with the dignity' In Utopia yes. Do you remember the expenses scandal a dozen or so years ago ? They were all at it, crooks the lot of them. 'committing crimes, lying and misleading the Commons is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated or excused'. I agree, yet Dan Norris who was one of the worst in the expenses scandal is now West of England Mayor. R&W - You can't trust any of them.
RP: 'In Utopia yes...' I get what you are suggesting, but haven't we got to TRY to achieve Utopia - even if we ultimately fail? For example, although we know that we will never fully eradicate all diseases, as new ones keep coming along, yet we still have medicines, surgeons, doctors and nurses - and keep on researching and from time to time have a breakthrough. Likewise, we will never fully eradicate crime, yet we employ police and a justice system to try and fight it, where we can. The same should apply to lying and cheating by people in positions of power. We know that there will ALWAYS be some lying and cheating, but should we not at the very least TRY to identify and punish it? Otherwise we may as well give up and accept that anything goes......
on the face of it a lie is a lie. Used to hear years ago a response "it was only a little white lie !" When is a lie a lie? When you deny something that is possibly not the absolute truth? You are totally unaware that you broke /damaged something of value ... example say ... whilst upstairs you opened an upstairs window , upon opening a door to go outside a breeze blew through, unsettling a top heavy vase in the hall way as you closed the door . it fell to floor, breaking and all the water was on the carpet. UPON RETURN YOU are confronted with how did you smash the vase , YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE/LAST ONE IN HOUSE! .... " I didnt" ......is I didnt a lie? [ i know a poor example ]
Surely having been fined for breaking lock down rules Boris & Rishi should do the gentlemanly thing & resign,,,, oh wait a minute they aren’t gentlemen!!
Boris at present has shot up the ratings with the Ukraine issues-don't think he is going anywhere at present.
Starmer is calling for Johnson and Sunak to resign. And if they do, who does Starmer think will replace them when we're assisting Ukraine. The bloke, who can't even tell the public what a woman is (and nor can his Deputy), is deluded and is terrified of upsetting his own loonies by saying what 99.9% of the population think a woman is. What a joke
There’s no question of Labour taking over, but The PM & Chancellor need to go. We can’t be ruled by proven liars
i just hope Starmer and his clueless cronies continue their crusade ... should they come down here i will point out quite a few houses where gatherings ... spaced out, about 1-2m apart took place some in the front garden. 1 just round the corner had about 9 -10 people sat in the sunshine front drives [ shared type ] about 7-30pm tables chairs music .. softly playing I might add ... it was sort of like that picture in the garden of number 10 .....
I hope you are wrong, for the sake of the integrity of our parliamentary system, we live in a democracy not a Tim pot dictatorship where the leader can lie and cheat with impunity.
