Whilst Bellamy can do a job, he's over 30 and is more likely to be played out on the wing. What we need is a fox in the box so I do think we need to buy sooner rather than later.

Carroll can do the job but he is under a lot of pressure so I would recommend Kenny doest't start him all the time and just let Carroll learn at his pace and get back to his level in his own time. He is a youngster and we should treat as we do with the likes of Spearing and Hendo.

I think we should be looking at younger players - 22 to 25. Someone who is good at the minute but has the potential to be better (similar to Torres and Suarez - well known but no one was prepared to take the risk).

Lavezzi and Cavani would be amazing but we would need Champions League football to attract these players.

I thought we should have signed Forlan when he was available in the summer for £5mil, him and Suarez are lethal together for Uruguay. Of all the striker's out there that we would have a realistic chance of signing I would say Llorente would be the best partner for Suarez. I don't think that will happen in Jan, maybe the summer if Carroll continue's to be awful.

I would say Gomez would have to be my first choice, cavani second

interresting link, didn't think Kuyt would be so high up but his shots per game is low!

Hey guys, Saints fan in peace. With all the transfer activity in the summer, I thought you guys would be heading out with a 4-3-3 formation, and thats what my Liverpool supporting mates seem to think would be better as well. What do you think?

In the right games, I would like to see a 4-2-1-3 formation with Gerrard in the hole.

Players who we could afford? Huntelaar at Schalke would be a good choice. At 6'1", not a shorthouse, and he's tecnically very good. Good scoring record everywhere except Milan, where he left to make room for Ibrahimovic. Last moved for €12mil in 2010.

If you want quick and tricky, we could have Saviola, now at Benfica - he moved there from Real for just €5mil. As a bonus, he's retired from international football, so those international breaks would be rest time for him...

I'd like to go for Stevan Jovetic though he's just signed a contract extension with Fiorentina. He rejected us after that imploding season, Rafa's last. Maybe now he could be persuaded to join? Only 21 as well I believe.

Do we want youth or world class? If we want youth we could go for Lazar Markovic or some Uruguayan youngster, but why not put in a cheeky bid for Higuain or Benzema?

Benzema too similar to Suarez, quick feet, clever movement, slow.

Higuain is top drawer, but why on earth would he join Liverpool now?

After paying £35M out for Carroll, I can't see any option but to play him until he sinks or swims.

Who cares what you think! Haven't you learnt from your last visit to this board that we neither seek or accept your opinion?

Einstein was a great mathematician/physicist but no great shakes as a philosopher. If you care to consult the record it wasn't just me who found your comments totally unacceptable.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, it would mean moving Suarez outwide though, not sure how that would affect him, even though most fans of Dutch football say that he's at his best playing as a kind of right forward thing so it could work.

I really do not like playing our current 4-4-2, especially when our defence is sitting so deep because of Carragher's lack of pace.

No there were plenty of others who believed that the law of cause and effect is irrelevant.

And that anyone who doesn't think that the only reason those poor souls perished was solely the fault of the Police is attacking LFC and the victims.

    Which is a shame.

It's funny cos Benzema is faster than Higuain, which shows how much Schofield knows. Neither are 'slow' though, and I don't see how that word even fits among the others.

"Let's sign a player with quick feet and clever movement, but he has to be slow too."

But, of course, you're not WUMming, are you Schofield? To present the same ill-informed argument time and again on these forums in an effort to piss people off isn't WUMming at all...
