We are not good enough for CL at the moment, all it will do for the Spuds is give them a few extra games to play next season and hurt them in the league.
Before today Brighton had lost 6 of their last 7 games and only scored once in their last 7 games We all know we'll screw it up....it's what we do
Agreed. They havent got a great squad. Not quite sure how United get thenselves up there again. Squad is patchy at needs money spent. Team has a really bad aura about it atm. Lacking leadership. Just seems disjointed and of course there is the big management question. Lots to put right.
Thanks for that bonus stat Let's see what happens. We've seen how just two games can shift the balance
It ain't over by a long way. You play Southampton next week and they are already on the beach...we play Brighton who have found form judging by today. So it could be all change next weekend. West Ham are still in with a shout too imo
The momentum is defo with Spurs, you're scoring goals and we ain't A couple of injuries to our thread bare squad has blown us of the rails, and we ain't got a CF who's scoring either The only way we'll get back in it is if you lot **** it up
There is truth in this but without the bottomless pot of gold some clubs operate with *cough*, we have little chance in improving our squad to a level where it can compete on 4 fronts without the 4th of those fronts being the CL. It's a catch-22. We don't have the squad to compete in the CL, but we can't build that squad without competing in the CL. We've raised out wage ceiling significantly since moving to the new stadium but outright transfer fees have a long way to go until we catch up (if ever) with the likes of United, City and Chelsea. So CL money plus prestige is a requisite first step toward fixing that and I for one trust Conte to be able to juggle both competitions sufficiently well. The reality is West Ham and Arsenal have equally thin squads and United's is lopsided and bloated with driftwood. All will need huge investment to turn things round - it isn't just Spurs.
Which is why i said we are not good enough at the moment (and probably wasn't clear in the fact i meant all the teams i mentioned). Yes it is a good money spinner and attraction for new players, you need to be reasonably confident of reaching it the next year though to get the best out of the benefits, this would mean not letting the extra games affect your domestic commitments.
In fairness your squad would have been less thread bare and had more of a goal threat if you hadn't given Aubamayang away ffs Funny how it's turned so quickly ... 3 games ago you beat Villa away and you were 6 points ahead of us and had a +4 goal difference advantage. Now you are 3 points behind but have a game in hand and we have a +10 gd advantage. Tbh it it is way too close to call...anyone who thinks it's time to scream "mind the gap" is a bit of a twat
I know this will hurt you all deeply... But goodbye until Monday evening. Can't watch Liverpool game live tomorrow, so I'm disconnecting from all things internet until Monday evening when I can watch the replay without knowing the score.
He’s offered the Everton fan to be a guest at a game at Old Trafford. Smashes the lad’s phone then says come watch Utd… what a ****, insult to injury.
