I’d suggest you would have an empty shredding machine. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t have one

Have a day off. Jwp has been quality for us. Especially since Ralph came in.

Ralph exposed him today with his tactics imo

    Pretty stupid response Os.

Why is this the worst post you've ever read. I mean, bit of an exaggeration <laugh>

Selling JWP means we fund other areas, what is so wrong with that?

It's funny cos when we play we'll people laud him, but when people Q him they must be nuts!

I'm not saying g he is bad, I said I see his value to us. Maybe read what I actually wrote...

Definitely time we get one in that case.

Can’t imagine a more erratic side in the PL than we have been, probably in history.

I mean you get sides that are pure ****e, or great and sides that have some variable form.

But I certainly can’t remember a side as capable as ours that can churn out anything like today.

Only avoided the traditional 9 by pure luck and a few good saves.

You think that in the same summer we sold Ings, our talisman and goal scorer, we should have sold our captain & talisman..?

    And after one bad game?

Jwp has carried us in multiple games this season. He’s our leader

the knee jerk reactions here are so ridiculous sometimes. That post was so stupid

Agree to disagree mate. He's a high energy midfielder who has an incredible level of fitness and professionalism but he doesn't actually excel at anything other than his set pieces.

    Sure it was Os.

It's not knee jerk, I don't post here often, so how can it be. And I'm not saying he is bad, I'm saying I'd sell him why his value is so high so we can fund other areas.

Literally no idea why you're reacting so stupid, you're ot reading what I'm saying.

I get your point about last summer, and tend to agree re Ings and think thats why we kept him.

But our model is to sell our better players to keep the funding coming in, if you don't like this, which is all I'm suggesting we do re JWP, maybe we're not the team for you!

How did he expose him with his tactics?

It was the same tactics we've played pretty much all season, and that have been behind our better results. We set up as a 4-2-2-2 with our best available team pretty much. Then they didn't perform.

For a club like us, 50m for one player can't be ignored. Yes, it could go wrong if we don't spend it wisely. But, apart from the free kicks, Romeu is equal to JWP, and so are a lot of midfielders outside the top 6.

I wouldn't sell Prowsie either btw, but it's a bit much to insult someone for suggesting it.

Yes agree to disagree. I see our captain as our best and most consistent player. He’s brilliant technically, close control great, passing great.

He’s certainly above our level and could play for a better side. I find this criticism of him extremely weird and bordering ungrateful against someone who clearly has put Southampton first for his whole career.

Ralph is a manager who plays on the edge, only plays on the attack and sometimes we get exposed. Today was one of those bad days against the European champions. **** happens. But saying we should cash in on our captain because of a bad game is - in my opinion - a **** post

And also I guarantee that the same people that are saying we should have cashed in on him, would be the first people slating the club saying “we sold ings and jwp, we are going down, club has no ambition” etc

Who is criticising JWP, literally i cant see anyone doing this.

You’re being pretty bloody rude Os, no need to be, you are not reading what is being said, in context, you are the one knee jerking.

Enjoy your evening, I’ll move on :emoticon-0148-yes:

Today wasn't "a bad day at the office", by the way. Our form is woeful.

    Villa 4-0 Saints
    Saints 1-2 Newcastle
    Saints 1-2 Watford
    Saints 1-4 Man City
    Leeds 1-1 Saints
    Saints 0-6 Chelsea

Ralph basically saying that we were meant to be pressing high up and aggressively, but that we didn't have the conviction to do so, and therefore it was horrid. So he didn't change any tactics, the players just didn't have it in them today.
