Mackem in peace here lads. I don't know if there are any of Kyle's friends of family on this forum, but I just wanted to say that my thoughts are with this young man's family and friends.

L/Cpl Kyle Marshall was killed in a roadside bomb in Helmand Province in Afghanistan. He was according the the BBC a keen NUFC supporter.

It grieves me greatly to see young lives lost like this. Too many brave lads have died on a foreign field.

Black & white or red & white matters not. Rest in peace brave lad. Rest in peace. I have a boy not a lot younger than Kyle and I can't imagine the pain that his family are enduring.

I know this is football forum, but I just wanted to say something lads.<peacedove>

Too many of our Lads and Lasses are loosing their lives. I am a big supporter of the Army, so i'm not one to protest us being there. But seeing as we are there the govenment HAVE to back them! Send them the gear they need!!!!

A huge loss. A disgrace that they are even over there but to send them without the kit they need is just unthinkable. My mate knew him well as he went through army training with him, was a top lad apparently. Rest in peace.

    Fair play bald!

RIP Kyle, my mate just joined up on the 31st of January due to lack of job prospects. I still can't actually imagine him heading out there, until you actually know someone it's easy to forget like!

RIP Mate.....Lions led by Donkeys, was true in WW1 it's still true today, the men and women of our armed forces are second to none, the politicos who send them to serve without the proper kit should hang their heads in shame
