Great name for a football ground eh! Hope they've left room for their games.
Not wishing to stir anything up but this fixture has the potential for us to suffer another double reversal. Having lost by the odd goal in one at CCS, let's hope we can regroup after our recent trauma<laugh>. Though I suspect that neutrals will be hoping for a Royals win while our cousins do a job on the ice maidens. It's tempting to be drawn into that in the hope that Rooney Tunes get their dues.
However, for our part I think it's important to get back to our over all progress and not let things stew for the rest of the season. Another test for SM to see if he can lift the squad again.
    So back to normality hopefully.

Now can somebody get Sparkey off the Brizzle City board please. Tell him his tea is ready but don't mention his new name <yikes>

You called sir? Leaky drops here........<laugh>

As far as my presence on the Wurzel board is concerned, it's only because we (Cardiff City) were being pilloried by a pillock.

I've got no problem really with any of them over there. Most of them are a great bunch, but I will respond to provocation - all in a very good natured way of course. <laugh>

If you want to have a look, it's the "So!" thread - a good laugh if you don't take everything said seriously. I forgot to mention - it was posted by Tree lard.

With Reading fighting to stay up and us with nothing to play for, except for a few players who hope to get their contracts renewed/extended (or who may be trying to impress a new club) I do hope we approach this game with more vigour and tactical know how than was displayed in the our last outing. Morison has to get his game plan right this week and the players need to step up. Reading would settle for a draw I believe and I fancy that will be the result. Whatever the outcome everyone will be looking at a much improved performance.

    Agree with all of that.

We need a performance to restore belief and faith in the team and management.

I do expect some changes but please not change for changes sake so no need to resort to Vaulks or Collins.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Phillips, Doughty & Nelson start.

Unless Morison wants Doughty for next season I can't see any point in starting him. Bagan needs all the games he can get for experience, and with only 7 to go should start them all if fit.

Phillips and Nelson both played for the under 23's on Tuesday and could well both feature. Nelson only had an hour but looked pretty good for it and probably could have lasted the whole game. Mind you, that's at under 23 level - totally different ball game to the rigours of the Championship.

Will it be 7 games of "trials", or does Morison already know who he wants for next season?

Flint had an awful game last week, didn't put a foot right. Despite the international break (did he go on the reported Dubai jolly) perhaps he is wiped out after taking the defensive lead since Morrison's absence started.

I think we have lacked a left sided central defender. McGuiness has been okay there but tends to drift to his natural right leaving Bagan exposed. McGuiness is very vocal and seen as a future captain.

Is this the right time to give him more responsibility? Rest Flint, move McGuiness to the middle of the back five and bring in Nelson to resolve the left side problem?

The other options are to bring in Denham - I don't know where he would slot in or go to a back 4 and use an extra midfielder, unlikely.

We are safe from relegation so maybe we should make some changes and use those who will definitely be with us next season (okay not possible in midfield where Wintle is the only one certain to remain)? Just realised, Eli King and Sam Bowen.

Why not give Denham a run of games?
He hasn’t been given a chance since his promising game at Anfield.

Denham was another one who had a very good game for the under 23's last Tuesday.

We need to get some Championship experience into him during these last games. Get James Connolly back for next season after his very successful loan spell at the Gas, and with Mark McGuinness already here, that's three very good 20 year old options at CB.

Yes, looking very promising although some experience to guide them will be needed.

I don't think Flint or Nelson have the attributes to do that so, get Morrison as fit as possible and use his expertise for a year?

    Morison says no new injuries.

Will he confound us with his selection tomorrow at a ground where we have not won since 2015. In fact November 2015 was the last time we beat them.

Watters training on grass and in contention for next week.

Can anyone else see us winning this? The bookies don't think so - Reading clear favourites.

    So I've just stuck £40 on us @ 23/10. <doh>

Looks like he's reverted to a back 4 with plenty of bodies in midfield.

    The rumours were right then.
But that’s wrong - unless Bagan has a twin <doh>
    Doughty as a winger

    :emoticon-0148-yes:

I like the look of this team; hopefully it’s a farewell to a back 5. It won’t be missed if it is.
