Clearly you were not there for Newcastle, Watford and Man City last month... indelibly imprinted in my memory... unfortunately. Not sure this month is going to start any better.
Good news (I think) - the OS says that Lyanco is back in contention for the Chelsea game. And, incidentally, Long's injury has meant that he isn't currently training, due to an ankle problem. However, the article does not say that Long will be unavailable for Saints v Chelsea. He probably will be unavailable, but nothing is confirmed.
The Long injury was the result of that awful tackle late on at Leeds, knowing Long, he would want to play whatever.
I was there for first two purgatorial events, not for Cup as I was Covidy and I am now riding the wave of post viral optimism
Long, Adams, Armstrong, great blokes and hard workers but not much for CFC to worry about. A point would be a bonus.
Watched it on telly and if we’d have taken one of our chances it could have been a different game What can you do when you’re playing Sports-washing financial cheats with Foden and Mahrez coming off the bench?
May well have taken our chances had we not elected to start the match without a PL quality striker on the pitch. #stillnotoverityet
They were always likely to win but the penalty we should’ve had was what really changed the game for me.
