HE IS an unstable person, is fence sitting at the moment. They are more in bed with russia than EU TO A DEGREE ... the short border they have with Ukraine is in the extreme west. It would be a good route for humanitarian convoys / armament! But although there is military activity with Hungarian "c17" class planes it is not a lot. today at one point 156 aircraft Europe, [ military] had beacons on, 1 hugary and that was "passenger type " but Military activity has been with fighters/ chinooks in UK / western EU [ BELGIUM ] 1 Hawk at 50,000 foot today and 3 strato tankers [ they dont stay around twiddling thumbs ] there must be a lot of planes with no id switched on!!!!

I suspect you are right as when I check it's usually a couple of blackawks/chinooks along with some stratocruisers and hercules etc. Orban could be trouble in the mix as he definitely has soviet like tendencies but I suspect he's just sitting on the fence right now to see which way he will go and if he doesn't condone the atrocities then there is still hope for his brain to think the right way. My mornings start on here to get a bit of sanity before I go onto CNN to get a reality jolt and hear what further mayhem the prick in the Kremlin has decided to inflict on Ukraine. We are at a truly dangerous time as this Russian idiot just wants to keep piling on his atrocities, which he then blatantly denies, and his intentions don't end with Ukraine as this is his attempt to re-establish the Soviet Union and it's hold over most of Eastern Europe which will include some EU/NATO countries. This man will not stop until we stop him or some hero eliminates him from this beautiful planet that he intends to destroy one way or another.

I suppose that means that Russia is deliberately not hitting those valuable assets in Ukraine but continue to destroy everything and anyone living in the suburbs. Perhaps it's time for us to better arm the Ukrainians so they can start firing into Russia itself and targeting their infrastructure and missile launching sites, including the ships in the Black Sea, because if we don't up the ante then Putin will carry on his decimation of Ukraine and beyond. This insanity has to stop now and the best way is to eliminate the one person who is creating all the issues and we can worry about his thug henchmen at a later date. Putin has brought his version of terror to the world for way too long and his overseas conflict involvement stretches from Ukraine to Syria and now Russian mercenaries are rife throughout Africa aiding murdering groups of blood thirsty gangs with guns that are killing innocents in their hundreds. He is a nasty man and needs to be dealt with in equal measure to what he is dishing out in Ukraine.

One of Putin's mega yachts is anchored off shore from Turkey near Yalikavak after being punted from Bodrum by the authorities who refused payment for mooring from a sanctioned criminal. Does anyone own a submarine? To add insult to injury the bloody thing is registered in Bermuda - what a cheek!

I just watched a British interviewer talking with a Russian Formula One driver who looked scared to death to actually criticize the regime and virtually said that he feared for his safety if he spoke up about the atrocities. He was clearly aware of what's going on but like many won't say a word of criticism especially as he is currently in Moscow. He should, no matter what his feelings are, be kicked off the circuit given the current sanctions on anything Russian. I notice that a ban on all Russian ships has been implemented (not quite sure who and what will uphold these sanctions) and it's time to ban all Russian passenger air traffic and all the airlines that offer support to them through their combined timetables. The worst is probably yet to come. :emoticon-0106-cryin

I know it has to be some of the most difficult times for NATO and other countries to decide what to do next to stop this absolute insanity. Putin wants to rebuild the Soviet Union and to bring the new republics who took the opportunity to release themselves from Moscow's control and of course Ukraine was originally a region within that old set-up. Essentially we are in World War 3 because the only countries that can counter this invasion are the sworn enemies of Putin and his mob and the minute they believe they have found a reason to up the ante against us the whole thing may kick off in a brand new fashion and heaven knows what that would entail. The rest of the world knows that the Russians have had their asses kicked by the Ukrainians and it can't be sitting well in the Kremlin and I would think they are not withdrawing as they say but rather setting up for the next phase of their ill intended plan to neutralize their neighbour.

Sooner or later the West has to step up and walk the walk unless the weaponry they are supplying can turn the tide, but there is another possibility which is that Russia stops with the Donbas region to give them their land bridge to the illegally gained Crimean Peninsula. Realistically I think Putin truly will go after Odessa which would turn Ukraine into a landlocked country reliant on Russia to give them access to the Black Sea. Odessa is key to stopping this madman and his thuggery and if we need to intervene with boots on the ground we must face that as a unified force but I fear some may duck out of their responsibilities when it comes to the crunch. The public have no idea where the line in the sand lies with all the supportive nations and until we see us crossing the border along with the arms we are sending then it is a wait and guess scenario. Two countries that concern me is Hungary and Turkey because of their very close ties to Russia but not specifically Putin. The lying criminal that kicked this all off is looking very Hitleresque in everything he's done both prior to and during this invasion and we know where that lead us.

Unfortunately the Russians aren't the only ones committing crimes, so it seems:
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...oting-captured-Russian-troops-hands-tied.html

Inevitable I suppose in war that some of this happens, but unacceptable nonetheless if we are going to continue to lecture Russia on human rights abuses on behalf of Ukraine. Whoever did this is hitting our moral advantage and will provide welcome food for the Russian state-controlled media to use.
It will also deter the Russian soldiers from surrendering/defecting if they think they might be executed - they may as well die on the battlefield.

It's affecting some sports more than others.

I don't follow Tennis but there is talk of Wimbledon banning Medvedev from competing this year.

I follow GP Speedway and the World Champion (Artem Laguta) and 3rd in the world Emil Sayfutinov have both been prevented from competing in this years GP series.
Even last year when Laguta won a Grand Prix anywhere in Europe, they wouldn't play the Russian national anthem when he was standing on the winners podium, and would play the music from Swan Lake instead !

It's a case of Tit for Tat I guess.

But it doesn't make it right from either side to be acting so inhumanely.

It’s wrong on both sides, but the Ukrainians are not killing innocent civilians, it’s bad enough killing soldiers in this manner, but civilians is as RR would say “different gravy”.
