It is harsh, but also really fun to blame Lampard.

He's not the problem but he almost certainly isn't the solution either

Yeah - he isn’t to blame but I like him being shown up as not as great as both he thinks he is and his mates in the media old boys club think he is.

He’ll still slink into a cushy overpaid media job that he doesn’t deserve after this though

Anyone still think we should have signed Dele Alli btw? Has to be at least 4 managers who've decided he's not up to it now.

The fans will say they've been run terribly, but they've appointed some decent managers, and the board have provided plenty of money to spend. Ultimately if the fans decide to boo and jeer the players and manager, then that toxicity soon seeps through into the dressing room and board room. Fans put the pressure on, and the board make these knee-jerk sackings. If the fans had been more tolerant and supportive, then they wouldn't have had to change things so often. And it doesn't matter if you spend tens of millions every window, if you keep changing the manager.

I've never really had a problem with him. Was a great player, and I hope he does well (not at Everton though).

That's my view. For some reason I really like Frank. I have heard stuff of him outside football and it is all good - he seems a genuine guy.

But, it would be the funniest thing for years if Everton went down.

Picking up on your comment about female commentators.
There are plenty of poor male commentators as well, but there is one female commentator (I don’t know her name) who I just can’t listen to. Nothing to do with her football knowledge but her speech pattern.
She has a………………..very staccato……………style of delivery…………….leaving unnecessary gaps………………and pauses in sentences…………….before maybe stringing together a complete sentence in one go.
I don’t know if she does it for dramatic impact or if she is giving herself time to plan what she is about to say, to avoid making a fool of herself, but I just find it quite distracting to the extent that I usually reduce the volume to nothing.

I am really looking forward to fixtures, this weekend, that affect the lower teams.
    Toon v Wolves Friday.
    Everton v Man U Saturday
    Watford v Leeds Saturday
    Norwich v Burnley Sunday.
For me, losses for the Toon, Everton, Leeds and Norwich will really make for a very interesting last few weeks.

Tbh I think the jury is still out on him as a manager, did a good job at Derby, a reasonable job at Chelsea (somewhat overshadowed with Tuchel following up as one of the best managers in the world entering the peak of his career).

Sometimes I think part of the art of getting rated as a good manager is to be in the right place at the right time. Everton is very much the wrong place at the wrong time and it could dent his managerial career permanently. They needed a seasoned curmudgeon, not someone relatively new to the world of management with absolutely zero experience of relegation.

Could be a beautiful homecoming for one of their most beloved and successful modern managers.

Well at least the latter is true anyway….

Claudio Ranieri with Leicester 15/16 is the perfect example.

I would argue Adkins with us was a perfect paring at the right time.

I do wonder how Spurs are feeling right now. The deal they agreed with Everton would bring in a total transfer fee of anything between nothing and £40m.

If Everton get relegated, I wouldn't be shocked if they and Dele agree to tear up his contract in the summer. Let him go for free, rather than pay his wages as a Championship club. But even if he played every game between now and then, I don't think it would be enough to yet trigger any of those various potential payments within that £40m. And hence, unless Spurs were smart enough to include some sort of penalty fee, they could be left getting nothing.

Tearing up the contract will surely rely on someone else wanting to take him. Perhaps they would but he has been out of favour for a long time now with lots of mangers

I honestly don't think Spurs will be that arsed if they get nothing. Clear they wanted him off the wage bill by agreeing to the deal in question.

Maybe. But they could have loaned him out, if it was just about wages. I get the feeling that they were expecting a minimum of £15m to £20m from that sale. And weren't Newcastle rumoured to be interested (albeit difficult to know what rumours to believe where they're involved)?
