My heart sank a bit when Wenger was talking about what we will do this season and he said something like 'we will make the CL again' and that was was it. The guy is no longer even talking about winning the title in public like before. Just another dose of reality I suppose.

 

You've always had to pay for your membership but you also had to pay extra for what was originally ATVO.Now it's called Arsenal player and if you're a member you now get it free My membership hasn't risen considerably for this season to cover the cost

 

But Wenger coming out in October and saying all we could do is get 4th is still unreal when you think about it.

Thats clearly true. But for Arsene Wenger of all people to say we are now in a race for 4th in October means everything has been firmly put into context on just how far we are behind City and co. Its one hell of a fall. Must have hurt like hell for Wenger to have said what he did today.

I can quite easily check how much i was paying for my membership 2,3 and 4 years ago

Its still new for Wenger to go public in setting out the target as 4th at this time of the season. As for the 4 trophies, maybe he was thinking about playing Kos and Johan in as many games as he did. That was too much with TV out and our 4th choice being ****. Also playing Nasri in the FA Cup, where he pulled a hamstring and was never the same player after. Also playing Cesc in FA Cup games. Stuff like that probaly pisses him off now and we could saved those players for the bigger games. He has also said he probaly overused Wilshere last season too. In hindsight those all look like pretty big mistakes and its good that Wenger has again gone public with this.

This was an interesting thread until goonercymraeg decided to antagonise Jayram. Now im quite partial to a bit of banter and wit, but what on earth is goonercymraeg on about?

Back on topic, Wenger says we should get 4th. Damn, what kind of target is that?! Instead of aiming high and getting 3rd or 4th, he is lining us up for failure.

Im starting to wonder if this RVP story is cooked up.......
