This is why I don't trust the Kane 'love-in' narrative spun by pundits. Every compliment they give him, despite being deserved, seems to be served with a heavy subtext of… 'Spurs are nothing without Kane' -> 'Kane is bigger than Spurs' -> 'Spurs are lucky to have Kane' -> 'Kane deserves to compete at the higher levels, but somehow Spurs don't' 'Kane needs to leave to win things' Basically, they wan't to see Kane win because he's English and the best of British, but hate to see Spurs win because, 'come on lads, it's Spurs', Tottenham are somehow seen as less worthy of success. I wonder why? How dare Tottenham develop all of these young English top players? That's role of Man United, or so called 'traditional' clubs no? There is a large amount of jealousy that Kane wasn't unearthed at one of these other clubs, and that Levy has the balls to raise two fingers to the poachers, at least this time around. P.S. News just in. Surprise surprise, Jamie (you fired my Dad) Redknapp would rather see Eriksen 'thrive' at Brentford instead of returning to Spurs, which begs the questions….. Which players, if any, would these pundits actually like to see thrive at Spurs? What happened to having to move to win things?
