Conte's goal reaction video, for anyone that hasn't clicked on it yet. The look on his face when they scored was like mine. "FFS. " Quite a stark contrast to Bergwijn's chance, which he looked 100% sure was a goal. Interesting to see Gollini's reaction when Son scored the 3rd and Conte ran into the coaches. He's in there like he's one of them and he looks very pumped up for someone not playing. I wonder if we might look to keep him on even if we do sign another keeper?
Smashing lad by all accounts but I’m not sure we’ll be keeping him on if we have to pay for him. I don’t think he’s as hopeless as Spurs Twitter seems to, but I think there’s better options out there that will let us put more resource into other problem areas.
I think that we need 3 senior keepers, though. Get the youngsters experience out on loan. Depends on someone being willing to play third choice though, of course. Might be more realistic to pick up someone older on a free. Forster and McCarthy are out of contract at Southampton, for example. David Button from West Brom would be HG, CG and cost nothing. Could get in some Champions League experience with Scott Carson...
Extended highlights, which don't really add a lot, to be honest: Not sure why Doherty's not getting an assist for Royal's goal. Very odd.
Need someone to compete for the first team. I know I’m in a minority with my thinking but Lloris makes too many mistakes for me and a bit of proper competition wouldn’t do him any harm
I think that we're in a position to bring in a strong second keeper. Lloris probably fancies finishing his contract and then returning to France. That gives someone an opportunity to become his long-term replacement. He didn't immediately displace Friedel from the team when he signed. We could replicate that for the next man.
In all the hullabaloo over the weekend, we all neglected to mention that... WE ARE SAFE FROM RELEGATION!!!

The question is, is that Sam Johnstone? Keepers can massively step it up when they change environments to be fair, I didn’t think Ramsdale would be 3rd in the clean sheets standings right now for example. I’m ok with us basically giving a decent free signing the chance to impress in cup games as an audition and then making a decision next summer, especially as the recruitment environment might be more favourable for GKs around that time. Either way, if Conte doesn’t fancy Gollini then he’s basically an expensive Holtby and that’s not really where we need to be spending money. There was even a rumour that we only took him on to secure the Romero deal as it would help Atalanta out to have him off the books for a season for some reason, though I don’t know if we can give that any credence.
I have never been confident on his ability to handle crosses. He is often vunsrable with near post shots and he dosent command his area enough. He is agreat shot stopper.
Near post and distribution have always been his biggest, most consistent weaknesses. There was a time when he commanded his area well but I wonder if his nasty arm injury knocked him a bit because I think that part of his game has dropped off a bit too. Either way I think he’s better than most and would likely take a sizeable investment to improve upon. Other areas are more pressing, for me.
Matches with H Kane this season: W:20, D:6, L:13 As a %: W:51, D:15, L:33. Matches without H Kane this season: W:4, D:0, L:2. As a %: W:67, D: 0, L: 33.
Cos of course we didn't win a CL quarter final or semi final without him and have never beaten City or Chelsea or Chelsea without him. He's so **** at being a pundit...even by sky standards
