Good Morning. It's Tuesday 5th April, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Ayling opens up over Bielsa departure During a recent Interview, Luke Ayling opened up, and gave a heart-warming account of the emotions he went through, after hearing Marcelo Bielsa had been sacked. The ER favourite was at a children's party when he found out. He instantly made his way to Thorp Arch, where he broke down. "We were Championship players when he arrived and he turned us into Premier League players. We'll always be grateful to him." “It was emotional. I was at a kids' party when I found out and passing by, so I popped into the training ground and gave him a big cuddle. "There were a few tears. It was horrible. He's gone back home to Argentina now, so the saddest part is not knowing if we'll ever see him again. The memories I will take from him come from when we got promoted. The morning after we were all at the training ground and he got driven in. We were all singing his name and I'll never forget his smile. We all felt that happiness." Phillips doesn't want to play for Leeds, he wants to win things Former England Striker Ian Wright has wound up Leeds fans, after stating that Kalvin Phillips 'doesn’t strike him as a player who wants to play for Leeds, he wants to win things'. The 58yo was speaking on The Kelly & Wright Show when the subject of Phillips and Raphinha came up. Whilst we all know that Phillips loves the club, we must remember that by his own admission, he came close to joining Aston Villa in the Summer of 2019, and only some wise words from Victor Orta put a stop to it! According to Wrighty:- “He’s a sought-after player. Phillips doesn’t strike me as a player who wants to play for Leeds. He wants to win things.” “Leeds need to start putting things in place where they’re challenging for Europe for the likes of him and Raphinha to stay but I think Raphinha will leave (this summer).” please log in to view this image Aaronson or Ward-Prowse Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta have some important choices to make this Summer, none so more than in Midfield. In truth, Leeds could do with a couple of new faces in the middle of the park, but the most pressing would have to be 'attacking midfielder'. The position is currently occupied by Mateusz Klich. The Polish International, who turns 32 this Summer, has struggled since returning from burn-out during the latter parts of last season. Whilst he continuous to put in a shift each game, his anaerobic energy has dropped significantly over the past twelve months, prompting sections of the ER faithful to target him. We all know that Brenden Aaronson is tipped to arrive this Summer, but what about Ward-Prowse? The 27yo is not just a great midfielder, but he's a dead ball specialist too (as we saw last weekend). In 28 appearances so far this season, he has netted seven times, and laid on four assists! Aaronsen has three goals to his name, and four assists, but he is six years younger, and his price tag will be lower. It is expected that Leeds would need to part with 25-30m to make it worth RB Saltzberg selling him. Ward-Prowse would be expected to cost 40-45m, but is he worth the extra money? Would Ward-Prowse even come to Leeds? Has the club's lack of ambition put top talent off from coming to Elland Road? Are outfits like Aston Villa considered bigger club's than Leeds? Would you have said the same at the end of last season? please log in to view this image Summerville hat-trick hero Leeds cruised to 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace last night, though bragging rights, quite rightly, could only go to one man. Crysencio Summerville bagged himself a hat-trick, including a sensational opener after just three minutes, bending the ball into the top corner, leaving Whitworth with no chance. He found the top corner again, ten minutes into the second half, having squandered a great opportunity moments earlier. Stuart McKinstry added a third on 68 minutes, after great work from Kenneh, and Summerville added the icing to the cake in the last minute from distance having rounded the keeper. Gelhardt had to be substituted after 37 minutes with a dead leg. It was bad enough for Rob Price (Leeds Director of Medicine) to leave his seat in the stand (where he had been watching the game) to accompany the 19yo down the tunnel. It doesn't look good for Saturday for Joffy! please log in to view this image
I don't get the love in with Ward-Prowse Plenty of much better players out there Wrighty hasn't a clue about Phillips either
****ing Ward-Prowse! He's ****ing ****! Makes Klich look pacey. Take away his free kicks and he adds very little.
We have got a pretty tough run-in to the end of the season and I reckon if we win at Watford and get a point at Palace we will be doing well. After that I think it's going to be fairly bleak for the games against City, Arse and Chelsk. Brighton probably the next chance to pick up points and Brentford away well who knows. My view is worst case scenario 4 points and optimistic view 7 points. So end of the season that gives 34 or 37 points meaning Watford would have to find 12 points and Burnley 13 points but they both have games in hand over us. The Watford game is now crucial but if Kalvin and Liam are back in I will feel a bit mre at ease.....only marginally though. Absolutely right all he does is score fcking goals, we don't need anyone to offer a threat from dead balls like that . After all we have our own specialists . I for one was satisfied with a point on Saturday, not ecstatic but satisfied, another point closer to safety. Morning everyone,.
Nothing like a bit of bantz however I think you’ll find I have been a voice for a lot of the 23s who I believe will be or are good enough. Some may remember me saying season before last to keep an eye out for Nohan Kenneh who would end up as club captain and may even captain England one day. Yet again last night he had a storming game and would have been MoM without a Summerville hat-trick. I banged on about Summerville, Bate, Joffy, Cresswell just so happens I keep an eye on any kids out on loan?
Take aways from the 23 game last night was Summerville being unplayable. Joffy was different gravy and ran the show almost as if he had realised he was a cut above this level. The fans loved his performance. Greenwood did some good team stuff but should have scored a couple, and thats why my own view is that he wont be here next season. Cresswell bossed the defence, Kenneh did what Phillips does. Dean looked lively again when he came on ut young Joseph is still short on his own usual form since arriving and needs to man up
Morning everyone, still not a happy bunny after Saturdays poor result and performance from some player, the 1-1 result could be the difference of us staying up or going down. There are a few questions i would like to ask and see if anyone on here knows the answers. Meslier..... Who is our current goalkeeper coach? who ever he is, get rid of him, the reason i say that is Meslier positioning for free kicks is appauling, his distribution is even worse, this has been like it for two seasons now, he needs to shape up in my eyes. Llorente.... Last season this player impressed me (when not injured) this term he looks out of sorts, needs an extra touch in dangerous areas, not impressed. Klich..... passed his sell by date, time to move on, he knows he is out of his depth as you can tell by the expressions on his face especially when subbed. Dallas..... not a full back end of, i dont think he would fit in the midfield. Raphinha.... l personally would not like to manage a player of his calibre, he's has a very temperamental attitude, typical latin. I witnessed on a couple of occasions on Saturday he lost the ball and just put a token bid to get it back, not good enough with the position we are in at the moment, get rid of the bad apple and get as much as we can for him good riddance in my eyes. James..... Run his socks off on Saturday!!!!! but that's all he is good at doing, his football brain is in question, not just the last game but on other occasions as well, he was told to play up front and lead the line by JM and i shall address him later. Forshaw.... Quite a few have been saying he is not effective, Forshaw is a spoiler, opposition nuisance, a pest, and not frightened to snap into a tackle, him and Philips to play a similar role to what Philips and Rice do, i think it would make a big difference, even shore up our leaky defence. Rodrigo..... seems to be a slightly different player but not worth 28 million, whether it was how our previous manager instructed him to play, who knows. Harrison... this player annoys me to the limit, cannot beat a man, cannot cross a ball so what's the point. Robin Koch.... I rate this lad but he seems to be out of the picture for some reason, i have noticed when played, him and the Brazilian baby don't ever embrace and wish each other well before a match, something wrong there. Philips..... Will he stay, or will he go, i hope he stays, BUT step into his shoes and ask yourself that question, your answers will be interesting. JM.... Well he has been with us a month, had chance to look at players, had an international break.....thoughts!!! Mine are he talks too much (typical yank) is already chirping on about his 4-2-2-2 system, we have just got rid of a manager who bleated out his tactics, team set up etc. publicly saying we are getting there, getting better, i think you are still square pegs in round holes, Dallas and James are perfect examples, why the hell did he play Bamford and totally crock him ffs why has Cresswell not been in the picture, i personally think this lad will be better than Ben White. Jesse will do well to just give a basic interview to the media, keep a lot of his thoughts to himself, sell his plans and ideas to the players at TA and not the media they may come back and haunt him. Victor Orta.... Do we blame him for some of the dross or Bielsa, there is a long list of them, starting from the LB De Bock (before MB time) we bought WHO is still on the books, Kiko will be back also end of season, what about Costa, Roberts.......ffs i could get depressed. Watford on Saturday, this will test us, they are a big robust side, set up by Woy, watched them against victimpool and they were hard to break down and took them to task at times on the break, we shall have to be at our very very best to get anything out of this one, yep the roller coaster is in motion right up to 22nd May, just hope it doesn't derail. MOT
Would you spend 40-45 million on him this summer? Probably 100k a week too? 4 year contract? 27 year old? Never recoup that money? Because he can score 4 free kicks a season? Are you Peter Ridsdale?
Sounds like Gelhardt suffered a dead leg last night. Everything depends on how the quickly the bruising goes down.
