Wolves (8th) Leicester (10th) Palace (9th) Norwich (20th) Liverpool (2nd) City (1st) Arsenal (5th) Burnley (19th) That's a horrible run in, 6 top ten teams in the final 8, only a few winnable games in there but City and Liverpool battling for the title, Arsenal looking for CL, Leicester Wolves & Palace battling for best of the rest then Norwich and Burnley battling relegation mean they all have something to play for. Despite all that I think we need 5-7 points which should be achievable for safety this year. Don't think we'll hit the heights of Bruce and Rafa but that's largely their fault and not Howes.

You see, I look at thise fixtures with dread. I'm really not sure where our results will come from. Yes, we 'should' beat Burnley and Norwich, but we have a habit of ****ing up against teams in this situation. I know others will be thinking there's at least 3 or 4 wins to be had in there and we are sure ri stay up, buy I have a nasty feeling we are in for a bit of squeaky bum time. I'd love to be proved wrong and genuinely hope I look back on this post in a few weeks, shake my head at myself and say "what were you thinking, you fat twat?". But for now, I'll remain nervous.
Did you know in the 1870s people genuinely thought every single planet in our solar system had life on it?
Watford need to gain 9 points from 8 games, Burnley need 10 from 10, to level us and that's without us picking up a point between now and the end of the season. Can't see them scraping the points together to catch us now but I'd like another 5 just to be sure...
We'll win the next 3 then get beat off Norwich before finishing our season by beating the Scousers, before going on our hols.
It really isn't all that - take out the 3 game run of Liverpool, City and Arsenal, and it's pretty straight forward. Everyone's "battling", Norwich and Burnley are just incredibly bad at it, and we should easily beat them, coupled with an out of form Leicester and a mid table Wolves, there's plenty of points to be won there. Plus unlike Norwich and Burnley, we have points on the board all ready and aren't going to be desperate and attacking at all costs and leaving ourselves open like they will have to.
Taking the average number of points per game and applying that to the remaining games of the season, Norwich, Watford and Burnley won’t even reach the 30 point mark. We already have 31. A bit simplistic and life doesn’t just follow the maths but it won’t be too far off. You can make a good case for us getting at least something from all bar two of our remaining games so hopefully we should be fine. Sooner we get those points on the board though the better. We should end up with at least 40 points.
If we can get at least 6pts from our next 4 games I reckon we could relax and actually enjoy having a say in who wins the title and whether Arsenal can get 4th place. It will be good experience for next year when we are challenging the top 4.
