There was a lot of stuff Cooper was doing which is impossible to see unless you're at the match. Llorente had a good game also though.
Llorente adds to the forward movement. He is good with the ball at his feet. If he had scored with that header opinions wiuld be different.
Nothing wrong with Llorente and with a better class of midfielder to pass to he would be more effective. Next season i want to see kalvin playing a more active role rather than just sitting back.
Llorrente is a very capable footballer… but he does dick about in possession. You can say it’s because he doesn’t have the options to pass to, but reality is he still has to make a decision. He’s been poor this year but has generally been playing next to a young and still inexperienced partner. Glad to hear he was good on Saturday - hopefully we’ll see better performances from him playing alongside coops. Yes that’s captain calamity coops - many people’s 4th choice cb at the start of the season
Perhaps with Llorente to be the senior of most CB partnerships this season as affected him, some players just don't cope well with a little more pressure, having Coops back takes that away
Can't say that Llorente had a good game. Sadly, his major Achilles Heel is exactly what you described - dicking about with the ball when too close to goal. It's almost like he thinks he'll get an electric shock up his jacksie if he simply kicks it out of play under pressure. He doesn't - he feels compelled to dribble like a one-legged ostrich with its head in the sand. And usually loses out. Sad, but true, and it happened often on Saturday. He most certainly did not have a great game, and never will if he continues to bring such danger to our defence.
