What about Calvin Ramsay at Aberdeen who we were linked with in January?

LEEDS UNITED AND TOTTENHAM SUDDENLY FACE SHOCK BATTLE FOR TEENAGER WITH ‘MASSIVE FUTURE’

Sassuolo have joined Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay at the end of the season.

That’s according to reports from The Daily Record, who claim that Sassuolo are looking towards the Scottish market for new signings.

A Sassuolo scout allegedly watched Ramsay in action for Aberdeen against Hibernian over the weekend, also watching Hibs ace Josh Doig.

Sassuolo could lose former Celtic right back Jeremy Toljan this summer and have now started to look for replacements.

Leeds need some new energy at the back and Ramsay could be developed as the long-term right back at Elland Road.

Yet with Sassuolo now in the race for Ramsay too, it looks like Leeds and Tottenham will face a major battle for his signature.

Interesting debate earlier this season on the PL board.

How many points did it take last season to stay up ?

Popular opinion was 29 + a better goal difference than Fulham.

The counter argument was, for one of the bottom 3 to stay up they'd have needed 39 + a better goal difference than Burnley.

Both are true of course, but the fact is Fulham would have still been relegated on 38 points.

Don't know much about the lad. He's only 18, therefore based on previous signings he's being signed for the u23s.

The thing is though - he's just a promising kid. Patterson makes a mockery of being match fit, when he plays for Scotland with no club game time to speak of. £16m was cheap, but hopefully will be cheaper if Everton go down - which is becoming more of a possibility daily.

guess right back depends on what happens with drameh… there’s a few other good young right backs around - spence and jones both at boro (Spence is on loan at forest) are both talents .

Maybe, but one of them could always be a dead ball specialist, who shouts "Bend it" all the time, and a defensive coach, telling the back four to "Hold Tight"

Mentioned earlier by WJ and others but Cooper was outstanding yesterday.

First match after a lengthy lay off and the leadership he brought to the back four was noticeable right from the off. Many of us, myself included, haven't appreciated by half what he brings to the team.

Well done Liam, great to have you back.

Don’t get what you’re saying? If posters don’t agree with you about everything they’re slagging off the team? Good your opinion differs from others but that doesn’t mean that they can’t express theirs.

Bielsa, an honourable man with integrity and a sense of fairness, which is why he took the spy gate thing personally and allowed Villa to walk in the goal. In recent times I would have liked him to have exploited the covid postponements though, we could then perhaps have played our games against Newcastle and Everton with some of our better players available. Those six extra points to us and them having 3 less each would make a heap of difference to my stress levels in the next 6 weeks.

Plenty were slagging off the team yesterday...that's a fact.

That's their point of view but we don't have to agree with that either <ok>

Did we get any feed back about how Coops and Kalvin were after the game? No adverse reactions or additional injuries?

Interesting observations and I'm not sure why it's taken so long for Burnley & Everton to play their postponed fixtures.

The fact that Burnley have to play Villa twice in their last 4 games cannot be right.

I think you posted Burnleys fixtures for April somewhere. They looked to have about 6 games this month, hopefully that will cause them some issues. I guess the same congestion will happen with Everton.

    Just edited my previous post.

They have to play Villa twice in their last 4 games (no date for one of them yet) which is just ridiculous scheduling. The first game Villa (a) was called off on 18th Dec so why the **** hasn't it been played yet.

The Aberdeen lad is only 18, Milky. He'll have been earmarked for the u23s. Pretty sure that if he was PL-ready, there would be quite a few in for him.

His comeback was something for me to hang on to when it came to the relegation situation. KP too, to a lesser extent. From what I watched of Coops yesterday, I am absolutely convinced now that we will not go down. Won't even be close. We have a defence worthy of being called a defence again. Been a long time .....

The main problem is that we didn't invest properly last season. In particular, they put ALL their faith in a striker who they knew was carrying a bad injury, and ignore our midfield frailties. Unfortunately, our squad players have proven to be sub standard. That's the harsh reality!
