they’re a fact but they’re not an accurate reflection until the end of the season when everyone has played everyone twice. ie if Burnley had played norwich, Watford and Everton twice already… and still had to play the top 6 away from home… we’d all consider them relegated already
Burnley have 10 games remaining. 7 are against teams 10th or lower. They don't play any teams in the Top 4. Think it's reasonable to expect that their points per game average will improve.
That’s why yesterday was such a disappointing result, had we won we’d be 10 clear of Watford and 11 ahead of Burnley. I think psychologically our players would have felt we were safe and would have hurt the teams below.
Absolutely and if players think they are safe it's easier to produce better performances. Yesterday was season defining and we failed (as we did in the home game against Newcastle).
Yep. Win both of those and we’d have a cigar on and be able to plan for next season. No regular goal scorer has hampered us all season.
Hypothetical - Three games to go, you’re 3 points clear of relegation, you have to play Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal. The team just behind have got to play Norwich, Watford and Everton which position would you prefer to be in. It has lots to do with who you’ve played
Just think this board at times is full glass half empty and this last couple of weeks has been crap. Too many people looking for any excuse to have a go at ghe club, the players, directors….. plenty on here said we were shyte yesterday when the majority not on this board said we played well. My glass is half full
Good one Doc My view is we're still only a couple of quality signings away from being a very good team.
I was critical of yesterdays performance. I said when Bielsa went that the players would now be held responsible. They've been **** all season. It reminded me very much of the Newcastle home game yesterday. We had multiple chances to get in behind Southampton and they were there for the taking. The system was fine, it got us in to good positions alot. The problem yesterday was the same problem we have had all season. Poor finishing. Poor decisions. Miscontrolling simple passes. Poor crossing. Same individual errors that have have put us near the bottom. The players who have played in that final third this season should be open to offers this summer because they will get us in to the same problems next year.
We’ve had three dream seasons on the bounce, this season has been horrific for a number of reasons. I’m excused from your last comment as I’ve not uttered a word in regards to anyones performance yesterday. I’m hopeful we’ll stay up but I’ve not enjoyed the results or the performances this season
Raphinha 9 golas Harrison 8 goals Add an attacking midfielder (who can actually score) plus a centre forward and we'll be doing so much better. Cooper, Phillips & Bamford have been massive losses this season....the spine of the team.
