In rugby, the ref can signal the "clock" to be stopped... several other sports as well But Chitty often face 11 men behind the ball yet still make opportunities. Imho not having another goalscorer alongside Stewart is one factor.
Cheers mate, and to the other guys that replied. Neil Harris has turned what looked like relegation, 10 points behind and doomed, into a plus and chance of survival. Some clubs we have to close up shop, and Sunderland is one of those clubs, otherwise they will destroy you. Bolton was a good example of what happens to us, if it goes wrong, they absolutely dominated in 0-3 victory. It's was backs to wall at your place, and all but for an amazing goal, we would have come away with a point, I watched your goal back several times, to find someone to blame, but no one was to blame, Sunderland found a piece of brilliance in the dying seconds, the sort of stuff that wins promotions.
We had the same problem when we were in the premiership , we were fighting for survival every season for years, so i know the pain and hurt when you're trying get get out of that recurring nightmare , 4 years down here and i'm desperate to get out.
Yes City have overcome the problem, but they are a real exception. I think allowing 5 subs would embolden managers to make earlier substitutions in games like yesterday which are too often down here in L1., and they are an insult to paying customers. A few days ago on national radio someone was advocating actually paying fans to attend matches, as they are a vital part of the games attraction, crazy maybe but he may have a point. The current situation with time wasting is so blatant its becoming a farce. I also would like to see two up front and have done all season tbh, Stewart has been a revelation but its asking far too much of him playing up front without the support of another regular goalscorer in the team, none of our current squad other than Broadhead fits the bill, so its an area that defo needs attention..
Not much ****housery going on in Old Firm Game I am watching atm, as Rangers press for an equaliser. Plenty of crunching tackles, playing at a pell mell pace.
yet we did plenty of it when we were struggling in the Prem , horses for courses as a team you do what you have to to survive, we would be in the same place if we still had SD and Salmon pants in charge. Thank fek were not, onwards and upwards lets hope we can get out in the playoffs, and the refs and footy is better in the Championship
I only called it cheating because that's what it is, just as other people have called it. The comments are appropriately detrimental and towards the team not yourself. I'm not talking about the tactics or time wasting, that's to be expected. But there are teams, similar to Gillingham, who get results without cheating. Anyway, it's obvious you don't believe there was any cheating so that's that.
Time wasting on the ball isn't cheating. Feigning injury and involving the physio is. Gillingham were disgraceful yesterday.
Football is just like many other things in life....you reap what you sow.....the time wasting came back to bite them up the ass. Broadhead has the natural instinct around the box. Give him a chance and he will most likely put it away and score. Massive goal and hopefully a massive impact on our season come May. Time will tell us if this is was "the moment"....hope fully so. We have got ourselves in a place where we can control our own destiny. Let's be positive going into the Oxford, Plymouth and Rotherham games.......faint hearts win f*ck all.
Did you seen when their number 3 went down holding his clalf, shin, shoulder, back and neck yesterday? The Physio just strolled down the touchline.
We've had a drink tonight and were howling at this when we cast it to the big screen. The scoreboard clicks from 0-0 to 1-0 before the tears well up in the defenders eyes ... ... and Stewart shouts '****er' to the keeper as he runs past
