My takeaways from yesterday. Should’ve won as we had quite a few good chances. Llorente should have scored with that free header early in the game, James waiting too long to pass to Raphinha and Raphinha should be scoring his golden opportunity. Cooper man of the match for me, we look so much more solid with him at the back. He cares and organises the team very well. You don’t know what you have until it’s gone. If it wasn’t for a silly challenge by Ayling we’d have kept a clean sheet. Can’t remember the last one we had. Dallas is a real driving force and I think he also had a good game. I’d like to see Klich and Phillips as the midfield two, think we’d create more. I worry for our safety if we don’t get a win against Watford because I’m not sure where the next win is from. Need improvement over the next few years because when we lose Ayling, Cooper, Dallas and Klich who are our promotion hero’s we’ll lose a bit of heart/determination and I think we’ve experience that this year already.
Just watching the game again. First half we have been fully commited and every player has done well. We're working really hard as a team whilst trying to get our creative players like Rodrigo & Raphinha in space and on the ball. Unfortunately not quite enough quality in the final third to score more goals but very encouraging on the whole. Second half report to follow...
So YEP player marks had Harrison as our worst player on 5. Everyone else gets a 6 except Gelhardt, Phillips, Raphinha & Cooper with 7s and Rodrigo top again with 8. Maybe that will mean Joffy, Phillips and Cooper all start next week. Marsch actually said he was going to start with Joffy against Wolves but his back tweak stopped him. He was then going to start him yesterday but had a false positive midweek, so was stopped from training for a day. Lets hope third time lucky
