Beat city and superior gd means we can draw 1 game in theory. The key is this is alive up until full time whistle next weekend. Its up to us to keep it alive past that by winning
Thiago different level and rightfully motm according to many. We were at 70% for most of it,saving ourselves.
Its like we’ve been for a couple months now. Not been scintillating but just doing enough. Never really looking in too much trouble, never super threatening non stop but just controlling games and then scoring at the right moments. With the amount of games left, can’t afford to go gung ho every game. Can be frustrating watching at times I think but just think we have to learn to trust that team know what they’re doing as that’s 10 on the spin in the league now
I hope this run-in doesn't end up being like 18/19 when the leaders kept swapping places according to who played first, but City always had that one extra potential point.
Deserved win, but I thought we did well. Kamara was superb in particular. Don’t agree with Roy and VAR - I would be screaming for that if the shirts were swapped. For me, VAR is generally bad when they fail to make the right choices, i.e. it is the human element that messes it up - situations like yesterday are not really arguable. Wishing you every success against Citeh, I’ll never forget the quality of Reds’ fans on the few occasions you have clapped us off the pitch. And we’ll do everything we can to drag the Toffees down with us.
I think the frustrating thing about the penalty, is that happens in every other game and no one cares. I don't think it helped that the guy didn't once look to the ball and just focussed on Jota the whole time.
Imo watford were relegated the second they appointed Hodgson as the man is incapable of the "pragmatic" type of game the fixers like oulis and allardyce get up to. Even dyche has the idea. Watford were never going to kick lumps out of us or lump it at a tall lad or really dig in and apply pressure. His mo is to just pick up points here and there across a season and do enough by being exactly what watford were yesterday. Compact and a rigid system. Chasing to get out of it requires him to get more points in a shorter time by any means possible and imo watford will meekly surrender rather than fight.
This is the thing. You show someone that moment in isolation and say is that a foul and no one can ever say it’s not a foul. It was a rugby tackle. Even foster came out after and said you can’t rugby tackle someone and expect to get away with it. However things like that (maybe not quite so obvious) happen all the time so it’s frustrating when it does happen and nothing is given to then suddenly it’s a pen the next game. They need to start giving out more pens for it and hopefully it will stop, but if I was manager I’d be going ballistic at a player for doing that and not even looking at the ball. Not a big fan of Roy for obvious reasons, but nothing against Watford so wouldn't kind you guys picking up some points and end up swapping places with Everton. Looks like might be a bit much now though.
